I read a thread on here where someone posted asking for bands with good bassists. So I'm thinking which bands have great drummers?
I know Carey from Tool, Copeland from the Police, and even the brother from KOL has improved on his chops (from listening to KOL's albums anyways), but who else would you say is amazing to watch - any recommendations?

Definitely! Stanton Moore indeed! He is awesome by himself and with Galactic
Zack Velmer from Soundtribe Sector 9 (of course is absolutely amazing...plus there's a hand drummer playing with 'em. Its quite a show...ask anyone who has ever seen 'em.
This here is a link where you can listen to their streaming radio. There's several different live shows on there and you can scroll through the songs to get an idea of what they're really like-One song can be really different from another. Check out the art too.

I'll back that up. Saw them last night. He's amazing to watch!
Michael Travis of string cheese!!! he has a couple side projects worth checking out too! ONe at BONNAROO! EOTO is coming to 'roo and Zilla is another one worth checking out. Michael Travis is one of the best coming to Bonnaroo for sure!!!!
Matt "f*cking" Abts and Stanton Moore are great, in addition to Stewart Copeland.
I don't understand all the adoration for ?uestlove. I have seen him with The Roots and in the Superjam in '05. I feel he is waaaaay overated. I'd put him in a class with Phil Rudd.

I'd also suggest Stanton Moore and ?uestlove.
But also, if you like good rock drummers, than Claude Coleman Jr. of ween is one of the most underrated drummers out there rockin. He's got a very distinct style that blends well w/ the wierdness of Ween, plus he ocassionaly sings a tune or two. Highly Reccomended.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Thanks for the suggestions...I may just have to check out Billy Martin on Friday night, depending on who TBD is gonna be. I thought about seeing String Cheese, but maybe It'll be a game time decision.
