Wouldnt it be cool if they set up a tent that had the best cover bands for different artists. They could have Darkstar Orchestra for Grateful Dead, Lez Zeppelin for Led Zeppelin, so on and so forth. They could also bring in some of those special Vegas performers and have special sets with some people that look like cetain artists. If you had a choice of a band that could be covered who would you want? I could definitely see Bonnaroo getting certain members of the real band to play with them if the cover bands are really good. I dont know I think it would be cool to see what Bonnaroo could do for the cover band scene, especially if they have fun and bring out the Michael Jackson lookalikes and have them run around the camp sites performing. That would be great.

In 2004, on Thursday night (and maybe all weekend, I'm not sure) they had a bunch of sick cover bands playing. I specifically remember the Machine (Pink Floyd) playing Thursday night, as well as a great Guns N Roses tribute, also I think AC/DC and a few others. It was pretty fun.
I believe that was in 2003, and it did go all weekend. I recall a Doors and Pink Floyd cover band as well as GNR and AC/DC. As nifty as it sounds, it took up the other tent's late-nites, and I'd rather have, you know, real bands to check out during those times.

I was saying that they do this for a completly seperate tent and still have the other tents for themselves. I just think it would be cool while walking around get to hear some great cover bands.

There is a festival coming up in Utica in a few weeks called "Almost Fest" that features all cover bands. I thought it was kind of an odd concept and now this.
I'm all for a well-placed cover during a set or an occassional album side theme but I'm not much of a cover-band fan. They're okay at a party but I'd rather check out something new.
I have no problem with a cover band tent, though, if other people are into it. I just wouldn't be hanging out there.
