JUST as I read your words, doodles, a Black Keys song (Black Door) started playing from my random-new-good-stuff playlist. I have dl-ed a bunch of them, because everytime I hear something by them, I want more. I don't want to act like I know what I'm talking about, because, um, I really don't, or to sound cliche, but I think they have a lot in common with the White Stripes. Two people, obviously. And from my point of view, they just have that sound that reminds me a lot of what I like about the White Stripes. I don't have the knowledge to break it down into words, but, just that awesome bluesy rock sound. If you like the White Stripes, you'll probably dig the Black Keys. Anyhoo, yeah, real good stuff. ;D

And you're likely to like the Keys more because both people in the band are amazing musicians. The Stripes? Not so much both.
Yeah I agree with you rooskew....don't get me wrong I love the White Stripes too but that chiquita can't drum to save her life The Black Keys on the other hand have two amazing musicians and yeah they pretty much just kick ass Oh and I just saw this wicked band called The Rights from Vancouver BC the other night....they're just starting out but man do they ever remind me of The Black Keys....check em out on my space

Yep I agree w/ the both of ya. After seeing both groups perform I'm gonna have to go w/ the Black Keys as my favorite of the two. I'll be front and center for the Keys this year, whereas the Stripes I'll just be hanging out in the back. They both put on good shows, Black Keys are just better in my book.
^^^ that is MY dilemma this year and i hate every bit of it, i still have no idea what to do, ive seen both of them once, and they both rock it....so its a toss up, its gonna be a last minute decision

Yeah, I got em to them at the beginning of the 2nd semester of school. It's all I would listen to, I started with Magic Potion, cause it was the most recent, thought it was amazing, then heard all their older albums, and was completely blown away. Made me think different of Magic Potion.
I will be as close as I can, cause this is not only mine, but most of my caravan's number one reason we are going to Roo.

I will be catching Manu Chao and the Roots, but they play Tuesday night in Fort worth when I get back so I will be going to that show. Its way better to see them in a smaller venue anyways with Dinosaur Jr..
Yeah, the Black Keys are a much better small venue band (they are from Akron, so fortunately I get to see them a lot). I'm going to skip them at Bonnaroo to get a decent standing location for Tool.
For all of those who have never seen the Black Keys live... highly recommended.

I just started listening to them a few months ago, and after hearing 'Rubber Factory' a few times I'll definately be skipping out on The Roots to check em out!
Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.

Mmmk, this is kinda random & retarded, but drives me nuts every time I hear it: When I listen to "You're The One" (from Magic Potion), when the song gets to about 1:34 it sounds so much like some other song - - - and I CAn'T figure out what it is!!! I think it's something from the past year or two......maybe played on tv.....a video, a commercial, who knows....but it's a real song. SO, someday, post-Roo, if someone's bored - - hahaha - - - HELP!!! This will be eating away at me brain til I figure it out. ;D

It reminds me of the mid-section of "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne...only it's not jazzy.
