saw them last night (sunday) in indy! HOOOLEEE SH!T!! man that was such an awesome show. it was in a club with about 1000 people in it. i dare say that this show may have crept into my top 10 shows of all time. totally amazing. sucha badazz geetar player! played 9 different kinds. played a solid 2 hours too. i WILL be at the what stage EARLY to get a good spot. so they only get 1 hour to play at roo???? are you sh!tting me?? they need at least 1 1/2 if not 2 hours to play. anyway, thought i would share that with all of you!

in '05 john butler played later in the day if i recall correctly, but in a tent. i guess he's big enough now to open up the what stage now. but i'd rather see him later in the day in a tent.
ya i think its bs he only gets an hour. he got an hour and a half in 05. it probably means he will play the new album and ocean and be done. but i plan to be up front for it anyhow. i just wish it was longer. i saw him in ann arbor last spring and it is one of my top 10 shows ever for sure.

I had not even heard of JBT before they were announced for Roo, but now they are the band that I am most excited to see - even more so than Tool..... I have been listening to lots of their live shows and they are amazing. I was surprised at how short their set is though. So damn excited!

JBT is one of the main reasons I'm going this year. He is an amazing musician and I can't wait to see his guitar work live. It's bs he's playing only an hour though, seriously....who dropped the ball on that one?!?!
check out my username. enough said. i saw him in dc on the 23rd and he blew my mind!!! how about kaki king? did she open when you saw him? she was great!!!!

Even though it's going to be short and he's on the main stage, I like his timeslot because there aren't any major conflicts. At least, in my opinion there aren't.
heard these guys recently for the first time, and was definitely rocking out to their set at jam on the river last weekend... i probably was going to miss them at bonnaroo when i first saw the lineup come out considering they're the first set of the day after what is certain to be a looong night of getting ridiculous on saturday, but i will definitely be making the effort to catch them now.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
I saw this group a year or two ago at the 9:30 Club in D.C. They were great....but what really excited me was that Jeff Lang was opening for them. I've been following his career for years, and this was the biggest crowd I'd ever seen for him--I was so happy to see him being treated like the rock star that he should be. I hope he plays 'Roo sometime.
JBT is definitely one of my top priority bands this year....we can only hope that they play a suprise slot somewhere, one hour is definitely just a teaser!
The John Butler Trio continue to tour in the United States, with 3 big weeks to go including the best and biggest festival Bonnaroo next Saturday. The band are cruising in early so as to make sure they catch both Ben Harper and The Police's set. Check out the photos below to see JB and Ben Harper singing together at the East Coast Blues festival this April. It was one of the great highlights for john to be invited join Ben Harper to sing Diamonds On The Inside..
From the newsletter. SO expect to see them jammin out at these shows!
