How about Flogging Molly? They're great live...they've got banjos...and they're no heavier than some of this year's bands (I actually saw Gogol Bordello open for them once).

Well....I've seen both bands...and Dropkick Murphys who someone else mentioned....all three are phenomenal live...but the Pouges are hit and miss depending on how messed up Shane is....I saw them on Paddy's day this year and he was in a wheelchair....Dropkicks are too hardcore punk for Bonnaroo....Flogging would be perfect...they're the right tempo and are so good live it's silly.
For years I've wondered why the Superfly hasn't included any top Japanese acts(except dj Krush) considering they seem to be a head of the game when it comes to booking things people don't even know they'll love. Boredoms, Acid Mother's temple, or Ghost would blow up a late night stage. I mean, boredoms plan to put on a free show in Brooklyn for their 20th anniversary coming up where they asking for sign up of 72 percussionist volunteers. They are orginators of noise rock and were playing groovy danceable rock almost comparable to STS9 with percussion before anyone in the states was that I can think of. I want even get started on AMT. Maybe next year..................

Yeah I was at Bang and Daft Punk was the most incredible show I have ever witnessed hands down. So yeah I most definitely hope they play Bonnaroo but i'm not sure how likely it would happen.
The Mars Volta has been one of my favorite bands since De-Loused came out but I have never seen them live...
Someone mentioned Roger Waters who I saw a few weeks ago (it was awesome)
