this gives me the oppurtunity to see one of my fav's Ben Harper and not have to sit out in the midday sun on saturday seeing the criminals. now i can go see keller for the 10th time under a nice small tent! :-) ahhh... that sounds great...
how awesome would that have been if they had not announced it, like normal. you walk in just to see who it is and see john pual jones up there
Sadly...I wouldn't have known it was JPJ just by looking.
Lol, don't feel bad! He was easily the least-visible member of the band. But when you share the stage with Page, Plant, and Bonham, I suppose that is to be expected.

yea, but it's sad that people don't realize how important he was to the band. people don't give bassists enough credit. now it's evident he was the most talented, with all the instruments he plays.
"John Paul Jones (born John Baldwin on January 3, 1946 in Sidcup, London), is an English multi-instrumentalist musician, and was known for being the bassist and the keyboardist for rock band Led Zeppelin from its inception until the band's breakup following the death of John Bonham in 1980. A versatile musician, he also plays guitar, mandolin, koto, lap steel guitars, autoharp, ukulele, cello, and the three over-dubbed recorders heard on "Stairway to Heaven". He is widely respected as both a musician and a producer."

JPJ was absolutely amazing in Zeppelin. He can play with anyone too. I heard him in a collaboration with Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket and Nickel Creek, and it was amazing.
I said this once already but this thread is filling up super fast....so I'll repeat....
John Paul Jones produced the most recent Uncle Earl album, and has played live with them....as they're playing the same day as Superjam....I bet you can catch a little JPJ in the morning also.
