Damn... I can't even think of the words to say about the caliber of the show that they put on. I remember watching videos of them online from posters on here, but what they did will never die in my memory. When their music hit me I was blown away with so much amusement that I couldn't even think strait. I will forever make sure that I catch sts9 live whenever they are near me and will never miss them at any festival I am at.
I danced so much I kept digging holes in the sand floor, climbing out and moving a few feet to start digging another. Must of left a dozen "gopher holes" in the floor.
Saw them a few weeks ago in a warehouse here but with the Roo vibe going it was totally insane.
this band was my best new discovery of the weekend. i was blown away, and danced like crazy (not to mention i was pretty effed up) people just wanted to keep packin the glass. I didnt want it to end.
I will be sure to see them whenever they are around, totally impressed and blown away
i couldn't believe it when they opened with Instantly, one of my three must-hear's for their show. Aimlessly was fun as usual, and 1103 sent my body on a non-stop ride for every second it lasted. Breathe In was absolutely beautiful, and i took the opportunity to take a dancing break, drink some water, and take in the blissful scene. The Rabble is a song i've only recently discovered my love for, and i take great pleasure in going as berserk and dancing as crazily as possible when its on ;D
i missed the start of the second set because i made a water run for my group and stopped to hit the bathroom too so i missed the beginning of Be Nice, which sucked because i love feeling that bass line drop in. Bigs was cool, Lo Swaga's a great song, TUSON was another dance/water/smoke break because i like enjoying its beauty from a more stationary perspective and One a Day has always been one of my favorite rock-out dance tracks.
the Tooth > Open E encore was just the perfect finish for the night, a mixture of another sweat-pouring, head-bobbing, arm-swinging dance track with a song that goes from sheer serenity when the keyboard piece loops in to an earth-shattering crescendo when they finish. when it was over i definitely agreed with the band's choice(s), and thought that it was more appropriate than the Peoples i had been hoping for.
i spent the majority of the set towards the back right outside the tent, between a lemonade stand and a green dumpster. the first set it was just myself and my other friend and alternated between swinging blue/green glowstick poi, and using my finger led lights. the rest of my friends came by after SCI's first set was over and stayed for the second set. towards the middle of the second set i occasionally moved closer to being under the tent while still outside, and was more centered and could definitely feel the bass better than my other spot.
glad everyone else had as much fun as i did and sorry for the long review, but i felt the need to really try and capture the experience for any who weren't there.
<1mo to their late night at all good and <2mo to their 2 sets at camp bisco!! ;D
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

I looked around for you Xiphoid assuming you would be in back with the poi like Langerado but didn't see you. That may have something to do with there being 15,000 people all dancing with glow objects! ;D
i was looking forward to seein them so bad but for some reason may the last minute decission to go to string cheese and just walk around. biggest mistake of my life. my friend stayed and spent the whole next day tellin me how awesome it was.

sorry i missed you mike, but you're right...the tribe always brings out the lights in the crowd ;D. i'd meant to say more that night when i ran into you at langerado, but well...you know how tough conversation can be sometimes

thats exactly what i did, and i ended up trapped between people with two 9ft tall guys in front of me... and i just kept dancing myself shorter.
why is it that my entire weekend was spent dancing my ass off behind a blockade of really tall people who stood still the entire time?
STS9 owns, I was sad about the El-P/DJ Shadow overlap but luckily saw their first four songs which were stunning and really fun. I've been wanting to see a good full show of both El-P and Shadow's for a while now, and since this was my 12th time seeing STS9 i was not too broken up about leaving. I know you guys had a blast though!
If you're a new fan and you're looking for something to do on new year's check out their Tabernacle run in Atlanta, three nights in row the last being new year's eve. I've been the last two years and it's an absolute blast, not to mention one of the best venues I've ever been too.
hahahah mikede, i saw her to. it might have been dark and i might have been wasted, but dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............................ nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
I wish STS9 didn't conflict with SuperJam. I wanted to see them so bad. I will have to wait for them to return for their New Years Atlanta shows. *sigh*

sts9 was unreal, however, unfortunately i HAD to see shadow so i left about halfway thru. btw, shadow was my highlight of the weekend by far i'd say. sooo sick.
I caught maybe an 45 minutes of the set after Superjam, and they were unbelievable. I was so tired, I just hung out at the tractor trailer, watched the lights and bobbed my head. What an awesome band.
