Did anybody else notice how many bands and artists were covering Led Zeppelin? Is this normal or was it probably just due to the fact that JPJ was there and it inspired everyone to play their songs? Just the bands that I saw/heard do covers:
Superjam (duh) Ben Harper (with JPJ) Flaming Lips The Slip Galactic Extravaganza
...someone else I can't think of at the moment. Any others that someone saw?

Mule was the best surprise for me, I was planning on checking out the beginning and then going over to Sasha and Digweed, but my mind was too blown to leave, it kept getting better and better. I wish I had the energy to go to S & D afterward, but i was way too exhausted, and no longer in an electronica mood.
Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.
Yes! I echo this. I just got a good quality recording of this show. Since I've Been Loving You is heartfelt, soulful, blues-rock heaven. Warren is one this generation's great guitar heroes.
Did you stick around for the Sabbath? Or at least the guitar duel with Luther D. from North Mississippi Allstars?

From what i heard of the people who saw Mule and the superjam it was the consensus that Mule's zeppelin rocked the socks off the superjam's, which makes me glad SCI's last bonnaroo show.

OK, I'm not the world's biggest Zep fan but I thought I knew most of their stuff - what songs did FLips and The Slip cover? I was at both sets and didn't recognize any.

The lips did a Kashmir/Taps blend thingy near the begining (I thnk before Race for the Prize). Not exactly a cover but it was a little bit of Zep inserted in the show. Wasn't at the Slip so I can't help you there.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
The Galatic Kashmir Hip-Hop Extravaganza was definitely a highlight of the Roo for me. It just kept going and building with everyone flowing. Pretty much capped off the late nights for me.
Yea, the Heartbreaker cover The Slip played was real good. I was at their set, then left near the end to get some food. Then wandered back to the tent and sat down to listen to the end of the set, and the next song was Heartbreaker. They ended with it I believe.
the flips played their version of kashmir right after race for the prize. they call it tapsmir. it's a short instrumental version of kashmir, with taps playing and steven doing the long ooooooohs.
