I was only able to get glimpses of these guys, if anyone was at these sets how were they? I was really upset that I had to miss Aesop but I could not miss the Superjam at any cost. Just curious how these sets came out.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
I am a big fan of hip hop but I just don't "get" El-P and am not really feeling him live or on record. Pissed I had to miss Aesop because of the Superjam but did make it for the end of El-P (saw him at Coachella too) and Shadow was on point.
My friends and i stumbled upon Aesop Rock as we walked from SCI to SuperJam. We stayed at Aesop and danced for a bit but managed to drag ourselves away to check out SuperJam. After a few minutes of SuperJam we ran back to Aesop and El-P bc we were having so much fun. everyone was dancing and really getting into the music. I thought both Aesop and El-P were awesome. I didn't catch too much of DJ Shadow.

El-P put on one of the best shows of Roo - I never knew live hip hop could be so theatrical and intense. Aesop Rock was great too, but his show was bare bones - still got the party going though.
Yeah Aesop was great. I've been a long time fan, but this was the first time i saw him. It really helped that the crowd was so into it. Wish I could have sayed for El-p, but I had to get to the superjam.

I was planning on it, but I went to the Superjam, then to see Cheese play with Keller for a song or two, then to DJ Shadow, finally to see an hour and 15 min of Mago. So many great shows, so little time.
el-p's "I'll Sleep When Your Dead" CD is great. definitely not your usual hip hop album in today's world. and now that i think about it, his sound was perfect to go right before shadow.
