There was a lot of talk about how Madison Square Garden was too big a place for the Stripes to headline... well last night Jack took that idea and smashed it to pieces with his slide guitar. They were phenomenal, and were at least as in command of the crowd as Roger Waters, The Who, Iron Maiden, the Stones, or any other giant arena rock band that's rolled through there throughout the years. I swear, Jack WILL be remembered among the legends of Rock long after we are all gone from this earth. I've always liked them a lot, but every time I see them I love them even more
Sounds like a great show! I agree about Jack being remembered...or at least he should be in my opinion! The more I listen to his stuff the more I can't help but think he's a musical genius. I have great musical talent, but I'm missing that genius factor. I've got a friend here that plays bass in 6 different bands as well as fills in for other bands when necessary. He never practices, just plays shows. He remembers and knows each and everyone of each band's songs perfectly...it's insane. I have so much respect and fascination for those people.
