I did think this for a while, but I decided it wasn't a good idea for a few reasons. Number 1 it takes away from the Headliners being Headliners. IF an act follows the Headliner on the Main Stage, then technically they wouldn't be a Headliner. Secondly, they shut that stage down and clean up that field after the headliner. If they allowed the music to go on well into the night it would cut into the time they need to clean it up.
Finally, In 2004, The Dead DID play well into the evening. Their second set was delayed b/c of a massive thunderstorm and they ended up taking the stage around midnight for set 2. I watched a good portion of it, then went over to get a spot for Primus, and the one thing I noticed is that the what stage is really loud at night. I think it would interfere with the Which Stage late night acts.
definitely. everyone that was there knows that flaming lips needed to be on the main stage.
yes yes yes
it would have been incredible with the video screens and more room for more people and more crazinesssssss
I so agree.. I actually ended up having to leave my front row area about an hour in cause I just couldn't stand how packed it was anymore, so I found a nice little area in the WAY back which kinda sucked but it was still an amazing show. If They'd been on the main stage everyone would have seen how awsome that show was up close.
