^^happybunny: you should have there cd since they did play the pre bonnaroo party and gave them away to everyone at the show. I hope you enjoyed them, and hopefully more people will get a chance to hear them when they are done with there new cd.
One local band that I have already heard has signed to play bonnaroo 08 is a band named The Last Straw. Good blues/southern rock that is starting to get a name for themselves. I heard this last week from people in affiliation with the band so take it for what it is worth.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Trampled By Turtles---they are awesome! They play 10KLF just bout yearly, as the hail from my hometown of Duluth MN, and are getting pretty darn big. Def. a fave of mine fo sho!
I know alot of people on the board wanted some funk at Roo and talked about George Clinton and Parliament. Well I have heard of this jazz/funk outfit from Atlanta that are fantastic and will probably see them this December.
Cadillac Jones. Its hard to describe them, but they do bring on the funk. Here is their site. Listen to their music.

I believe Cadillac Jones have some shows on archive.org I downloaded some of their stuff awhile back and they definitely fit in at this type of festival. There's actually a lot of bands of archive.org and also Leeway's Homegrown Music Network that fit well with Bonnaroo and even some of the smaller festivals. Anyone interested should check out these two things.

snowden grizzly bear would be an awesome later night show. very heroin rock-ish...think mazzy star. haunting vocals, strings, long drawn-out chords...good stuff.
I've been saying it for a long time... Rodney Branigan! He played a lot of festivals in Europe this summer. Maybe he'll hit the festies in the States this time. He's amazing!

I know that I've already mentioned them but, I'm really digging on Random Rabbit right now. A latenight Roo slot would be just what the pharmacist ordered.
To my ATL peeps: If you're like me and can't afford tickets to STS9's NYE show, you might want to consider spending the night with these guys.
I know that the line-up is a little heavy on the electronic side but, don't let that turn you off. RR incorporates live musicianship, crazy improv jamming and old fashioned psychedic trippiness. Think STS9 but, a litle more elctro. Good stuff!
