Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I see lots of interesting possibilities here I would like to comment on.
Metallica: They wouldn't keep me away from Roo (will anything?) but they definitely wouldn't discourage me, either. As someone said, they are part of the soundtrack of our lives for many of us - myself included. I've never seen them, but I wouldn't pass up the chance. In fact, I'd prefer to see them at Bonnaroo than headlining with someone like Limp Bizkit playing with them. While it's true they had issues with Napster, it's not as if they're 100% anti-taping. Remember, these guys made a name for themselves by underground tape trading back in the day. I think they'd be fine with tapers; a live show is different than unreleased studio material. Personally, I'd rather see Dethklok there if there's going to be metal.
Led Zeppelin: Did anyone think they would actually reunite for one night only? The only instance I can think of thus far (though I'm hoping it will change) would be the Floyd lineup that played Live 8. I doubt they would turn up at Coachella or Lollapalooza. Bonnaroo would be the best festival setting to finally see them. I'd actually feel guilty seeing them when Mom hasn't - usually it's Dad that gets jealous about who I see at Roo (Neil Young & Stevie Nicks' appearance with Tom Petty come to mind.) Considering the trend of band members dropping by Bonnaroo and bringing their full bands in tow the following year, it's entirely plausible Zeppelin would headline. We're talking about the biggest festival in the US, if not the Western Hemisphere. If any festival has the ability to bring in a band of this caliber, it would be Bonnaroo.
Pearl Jam: I got free tix to see them play Alpine Valley a few years ago. The show was superb, and I'd recommend seeing them. Their presence isn't enough to bring me to a festival, though, or I would have hit up Lollapalooza this year. PJ & Neil Young in tandem would be excellent, though. They did the Mirror Ball record together and there would definitely be some guest appearances in each others' sets.
Beastie Boys/Daft Punk: Both would be great late-night sets.
Rage Against the Machine: Another case of a member bringing along the group the next year. I enjoyed Tom Morello's Nightwatchmen set (during which he said he would gladly return if asked) more than most last year, and he did that guest spot during Tool's set. Rage's Alpine Valley show this year is essentially tied with the Roger Waters set I saw for the best show I've seen this year.
The Cure: Delayed their fall album release & tour to the spring. Pollstar has them playing in Florida Fri the 13th and in Georgia on Sunday the 15th, so they'll be in the South with an unscheduled date on Bonnaroo Saturday. From what I saw of them at Coachella 2004, they could definitely pull off a headlining slot.
Foo Fighters: Will be playing Wembley Stadium the weekend before Roo, with no dates listed beyond that. Saw them play acoustic set w/ Dylan last Halloween and had a chance meeting with Dave Grohl afterwards. I only talked to him for about two minutes, but he was really nice. While their music isn't the best fit in the traditional sense, I think Dave would have a blast at Bonnaroo. Also, Petra Haden (Decemberists) was in the FF's acoustic lineup, and they played Roo last year...
To throw out a name that hasn't already been mentioned: Is it safe to assume that Lewis Black will again be at the Comedy tent? He seems to have become a Bonnaroo mainstay by this point.
Finally, I should say hi. I'm a five-timer and happened upon this board searching for 08 lineup rumors.
Yes, the Comedy tent. Gotta love it. Assuming there's four big acts there, I'd consider Lewis Black a shoo-in.
I would love to see George Carlin, any of the Comedians of Comedy, Sarah Silverman and/or Michaels Ian Black/Showalter there as well. So long as there's no Dane Cook, though, I'll be a happy camper.
I would too, but I'd bet against it. I regrettably missed them this year, but caught Lewis Black and David Cross. With four main acts and one assumedly reserved for Lewis Black, I don't think there's much wiggle room for other repeat acts.

anyone think that if it is Mettalica they are going to get someone from the opposite end of the spectrum for Sunday or Friday?
Obviously lots of different kind of people listen to Zeppelin, they can fall into multiple musical categories.
If you have Mettalica you get the people who like heavier music coming for the once in al lifetime Zeppelin show and they will have another BIG band they love there. If you get a more psychedelic act to be the third band you get those listeners as well.
IMO, if the Led Zeppelin/Metallica rumors are true, I think Superfly should go ahead and release the line-up and just give us more artist additions later to keep us excited. I'd say with this rumor being posted on billboard.com that the rumor is pretty certain. Lets face it, billboard.com doesn't typically post bogus rumors.
The way I see it, if I worked for Superfly and found out that 2 of our headliners had leaked a good 2 months before the line-up was to be announced, I'd be pissed. Especially if it was a group as huge as Led Zeppelin.
I say release the line-up now. Who knows, maybe other festivals will follow suit and have earlier line-up announcements.

it looks like the metallica rumor is not true but what do you guys think of a metallica with an orchestra like there s&m shows. that would be epic at bonnaroo.\
also i would like to see a massive superjam Saturday night like: dave matthews, trey, tim reynolds, les, john medeski, questlove, and robert Randolf playing together
that and zeppelin playing saturday would be amazing
If you look at the past couple of years, it seems like Bonnaroo has been following a pattern (and a good one at that) of booking a younger band (Tool, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band), an older classic band (The Police, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), and a jam band (Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh & Friends, Widespread Panic) as the headliners
I haven't gone through all 10 pages but if you look at the Langerado lineup below, you've gotta imagine that quite a few of these bands will be there in some shape or form. I'd love a late night Beasti's set...
Beastie Boys • R.E.M. • Phil Lesh & Friends • 311 • Matisyahu • Thievery Corporation • The Roots • Gov't Mule • Ani DiFranco • Ben Folds • G. Love & Special Sauce • Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood • Built to Spill • The National • Les Claypool • Umphrey's McGee • The Disco Biscuits • Keller Williams • Mickey Hart Band • of Montreal • Robert Randolph & the Family Band • The Wailers • funky Meters • Citizen Cope • Antibalas • !!! • Dark Star Orchestra • Ozomatli • Sam Bush • Minus the Bear • Ghostland Observatory • Arrested Development • Blind Melon • Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars • The New Deal • Benevento Russo Duo • Perpetual Groove • Railroad Earth • Martin Sexton • The Avett Brothers • Grace Potter and the Nocturnals • The Walkmen • Dr. Dog • Indigenous • State Radio • Vampire Weekend • The Bad Plus • The Felice Brothers • Pelican • Yard Dogs Road Show • Brett Dennen • Earl Greyhound • The New Mastersounds • Dan Deacon • Josh Ritter • Pete Francis • Ryan Shaw • Blitzen Trapper • matt pond PA • The Dynamites feat. Charles Walker • Bassnectar • Balkan Beat Box • The Lee Boys • Shout Out Louds • Golem • The Wood Brothers • Busdriver • RAQ • Will Hoge • Spam Allstars • Phix • American Babies • The Heavy Pets • Backyard Tire Fire • The Postmarks • Steel Train • Hoots and Hellmouth • Jonah Smith • Pnuma Trio • Awesome New Republic • That 1 Guy • Trevor Hall • American Bang • School of Rock All-Stars •

Definites: Phil Lesh (some form), Thievery Corporation, Ben Folds, G Love, MMW, Les Claypool (have a feeling it will be a new band), Umph, Bisco, Robert Randolph, !!!, Ghostland Observatory, The New Deal, Vampire Weekend, New Mastersounds, Bassnectar, The Avett Brothers, Steel Train,
Maybes: Ani, Beasties (ultimate late night hip hop set, do not want as a headliner though), Of Montreal, Ozomatli, Benevento & Russo (with Gordon), RAQ
What late night rave show (Sasha & Digweed this year) will you think come to roo this coming year? I do not follow that scene as much so I have no clue who could play that.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
Beasties would be pretty awesome. I also think Of Montreal would play a sweet late night set.
Also, just how big is R.E.M.? Would they have to be a headliner or could it be like The White Stripes, who headlined ACL but weren't a headliner at Roo last year. If it ends up being Pearl Jam, Led Zepplin, and a jam band like DMB would there still be room for R.E.M.?

I'd think it might look more like this (I'm weighing heavily acts that haven't performed but fit, or acts that I can really see coming back):
Definites: Built to Spill, Les Claypool, Of Montreal, The Wailers, Funky Meters, Dark Star Orchestra, Blind Melon, Antibalas, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Avett Brothers, Perpetual Groove, Vampire Weekend, The Bad Plus, Martin Sexton, Ozomatli, Blitzen Trapper
Maybes: Umphrey's, Disco Biscuits, Ani Difranco, R.E.M., Robert Randolph, Ben Folds, Beastie Boys, Arrested Development, G. Love and Special Sauce, Medeski Scofield Martin and Wood, Thievery Corporation, Ghostland Observatory, Sam Bush, Shout Out Louds, New Mastersounds, Lee Boys
And I think the late night dance party may be Chemical Brothers.
What late night rave show (Sasha & Digweed this year) will you think come to roo this coming year? I do not follow that scene as much so I have no clue who could play that.
Acts to keep a lookout for (if they do a summer tour or start playing festivals): Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, The Crystal Method, BT, Underworld, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, maybe DJ Logic, Amon Tobin or Armin van Buuren

I would say Massive Attack...New cd coming out..just my hope hahaha oh and infected mushroom STS9
I really hope Lewis Black isn't in the comedy tent again. He's a great stand-up, but I saw him in 06 and 07 and it seemed like he did the exact same show both years. They can get someone much better. I would like Stephen Lynch, Jim Gaffigan, Nick Swardson, Daniel Tosh, Zach Galifianakis, Bob Saget, Brian Posehn. That would be my ultimate comedy tent.
But as long as Carlos Mencia doesnt show up, i'll be ok.

I am all about the Cut Chemist, and damn if I havent seen the langarado lineup yet. Exciting. It really seems alot of previous jam fests are taking ques from the roo. I couldent have seen this eclectic of a lineup at langarado a few years back.
Here's Langerado 2007 Lineup & all the Bonnaroo 2007 Lineup highlighted out of them:
LANGERADO 2007 Trey Anastasio, moe., Sound Tribe Sector 9, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, North Mississippi All Stars, Galactic, The Hold Steady, New Monsoon, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Tea Leaf Green, Assembly of Dust, Lotus, My Morning Jacket, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Medeski Martin and Wood, The Disco Biscuits, JJ Gray + Mofro, Soulive, Perpetual Groove, Yerba Buena, The Slip, Toubab Krewe, Apollo Sunshine, Widespread Panic, Matisyahu, O.A.R., The New Pornographers, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Toots and the Maytals, Cat Power and Dirty Delta, Pepper, Explosions in the Sky, New Orleans Social Club, The Mutaytor, Band of Horses, Girl Talk, The Spam Allstars, Rodrigo y Gabriela*, Kid Beyond.
* Note- Rodrigo y Gabriela were dropped from the set list at the last minute and were replaced by The Lee Boys.
There were only like 10 bands the same. It's a much different festival then Bonnaroo. But i agree, this year looks much more like a Bonnaroo than previous years at Langerado. We'll see...

how about instead of having the actual Phish at Bonnaroo... just bring Phix. They are a really great cover band of Phish. I know it wouldn't be the same... but if you are looking for a Phishy-experience... why not?
