Too bad I did not get into this group till after the death of lead singer/bassist Mark Sandman. I think of all the bands being labeled in the yay or nay series, this would be one unanimous yay decision if we could have Morphine at tha Roo.
Oh yeah, sharks patrol these waters, sharks patrols these waters, don't let your fingers dangle in the water...

It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

During Les Claypools 1st Bonnaroo performance in 2002, he mentioned onstage that mark Sandman gave him the idea to use a bullet mic for vocals. No point really, just a Bonnaroo/morphine connection I thought I'd share.
Good to see ya back, masshysteria. I thought we'd lost you til the lineup announcement
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

yeah my bro told me something about that happening at the roo, but did not remember with who.
well I have been stickin my head in once in awhile to keep up with any happenings going on and looking at any new news on festies and what not. i had to give the boards up a little bit since school started back up and all and try not to waste too much time on here...lol.

I've been bummed for years about missing-out on Morphine's music until it was too late to see them live. I'm always amazed at how few people seem to have a clue who they are....and how good they were! They're/were a great band and I think that they would've been an excellent Roo addition!
Karma for the fine taste.

It's on the 5 Gallons of Diesel DVD. I first checked out Morphine afterwards and I quickly became sour when I heard how cool their music was.

Saw them on the HORDE tour as well, over in Raleigh. Was a little familiar with their music before hand but was totally unprepared for how insane they were live. Played on a small side stage, we got about 10 feet away. If they were still around today, they would rule at Roo!
I got the whiskey baby I got the whiskey I got the cigarettes You are a super ultra maxi Mega super funkie love baby Oh I need a super star I need a candy bar Automatic taxi stop Electric cigarette love baby Hotel rock'n'roll the discoteque Electric super sex
And apparently, on occasion, they put together a Morphine tribute of sorts (I say of sorts because the remaining members of Morphine are involved) called Orchestra Morphine.
I'd be down for either at Bonnaroo. It'd be the kind of show that would be great on early Sunday afternoon when people who didn't know better are still trying to sleep off hangovers...
