all i have to say is it is just downright selfish if the talking heads do not reunite in my lifetime, i personally think they are the best band of the last 30 years, and although i may take a lot of flak for that statement, i defy anyone to put forth a group which has made a larger contribution to music in that timeframe...i would absolutely love to see the talking heads, one of the major influences of another great live band, radiohead, at bonnaroo...david byrne is the man

i thought about a band yesterday...i never liked them...in fact, i've only heard 1 song of theirs....not sure if they're still around....i haven't heard really anything about them in it seems about 6 or 7 years....and i don't really think they fit with bonnaroo, well, at first i didn't think tool fit with roo, but then i realized they did, so anyways....and it's not like i want them at roo, i'm writing this basically because its a band that somehow just popped in my head yesterday...anyways, do you guys remember rammstein? from germany i believe....i think that's how you spell rammstein...
^^one day i was video surfing on youtube, and came across a couple rammstein live performances. its weird, whips and chains and leather things it made me real uncomfortable, but why not, id prob go just to see what kind of shock value they produce.

the only artist (s) listed in this thread that interest me are the Talking Heads. I personally believe a reunion will never happen however. I am beginning to believe I will not be gracing the which stage at roo 08.

Every time I hear about a possible Talking Heads reunion I also hear that Byrne is the ONLY band member against it, and he says that there will never be a reunion. Sad, because I would love that...they're one of my favorites!

what about the dead? not replacing zeppelin, but for sunday. you think they'll get back this year. it's been a few years. with phil's health problems, i would hope they would get back for bonnaroo at some point in the next 5 years. i'd like to see phil close this year, i think they have a chance, but they are already closing out langerado. their lineup has always been hot, but the past couple years they've really been on fire. i'd love to see ryan adams join phil and friends this year if the dead doesn't work out. jackie greene's great also, but ryan or even trey or chris robinson with them would be sweet.

Shortened just so the quote wouldn't be huge. I hate huge quotes.
Anyway, yes I remember Rammstein, and yes they are still around. Recording a new album in fact that probably won't be ready until late 2008 or even 2009. I'm not the huge fan I was back when I was into metal as a teen, but for some reason every time they put out a record I pick it up. Nostalgia maybe. I still want to see them perform more than four songs live (they got arrested for indecent exposure on a Halloween show). But I don't think they would fit Roo very well.

ive heard the best band for a show like that is gwar. they will go all out with blood and gore on stage (like spraying you with blood if close enough), supposedly some of them are experts with special effects of the such and such. would be interesting too see i think, although depending on "what you have going on in your mind" might be more advised to go see a happier show

You don't need anything extra going through your mind seeing GWAR.

But the Talking Heads aren't going to reunite. They were "Once In A Lifetime"
Was watching VH1 Classic and their "Rock of Ages" series... How about Oasis? They were huge, and I think would put on a fabulous show on the huge stage at the Roo

i'd love oasis to be there...they played ACL a few years ago...one of my favorite bands during the 90's...i wonder how noel and liam are getting along?
i hope the lips come back. their show last year was my favorite performance and they had to follow the much beloved police. well in the words of N.W.A. 'fuck the police'. a lips concert is the happiest place on earth.

have you heard anything about r.e.m. officially or is this just speculation, i think they could be there, but with them being headliners of langerado, i would think bonnaroo would go after someone different
Rush Tour In 2008 GREAT WHITE NORTH POWER TRIO CONTINUE SNAKES & ARROWS WORLD TOUR
Rush After a very successful tour this year behind their 18th studio release, Snakes & Arrows, Rush will begin rehearsals in March to revamp the setlist before kicking off a 40-plus date tour with their first ever appearance in San Juan, Puerto Rico in April. Despite overall lagging numbers in big venue concert attendance, Rush grossed an astonishing $29.7 million on the 2007 Snakes & Arrows tour. Not bad for progressive hard rockers who released their first album in 1974!
2008 will see Rush tour in over 40 cities throughout the United States and Canada, making stops in many places they haven’t performed in well over a decade including Orlando, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Austin, Jacksonville and Winnipeg. Along the way, Rush will play new venues in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and Seattle and revisit some familiar spots in Boston, Washington and Charlotte, amongst others. Rush fans can look forward to a complete tour announcement in mid January. As details develop information will be made available at www.rush.com

Hmmm..... Rush would make for a cool friday headliner I think. A prog rock band with a good size following who are in the middle of a tour, kinda like Tool..............man I can't wait until the line-up comes out, all the speculation is killing me.

for shock value + quality music, i'd love to see marilyn manson headline. i know he's a real hit-or-miss kind of artist, but he's got some real danceable (sp?) tunes.
