Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Also I can't really see Pat Green (never even heard of him...but from his website he looks pretty mainstream country...opened for Kenny Chesney) playing at roo and Pollstar has him listed too...
I understand what you're saying, but Pat Green also has opened up for DMB. And Bonnaroo experimented with mainstream country last year by having Dierks Bentley on the bill.

Ah, kinda, but I hope some more traditional bluegrass acts get added as well (Ricky Skaggs, Doyle Lawson, etc.) Also, I really hope Gillian Welch is back as well, she is wonderful.
I saw Willie with Merle and Ray Price this year and he was pretty good. He can definitely still go the distance, he took up all of his 2 hours.
Willie singing 'A Peaceful Solution' (a cappella perhaps?) could be an awesome moment at Roo. If you havnt heard him do that song, check it out.
i saw that same concert in boston - it was about the strangest crowd ive ever seen. everyone sat the entire show. when i stood up when willie got on stage, people behind me *shouted* at me to sit back down. wtf!@
i saw willie with john fogerty a few years ago and it was a completely different vibe. i guess i had never been to a real old-time country show before?
Yep, it was the same deal in Huntington, WV which usually has a big rowdy redneck crowd no matter who it is. I think the problem was Ray Price. He just did not fit with Willie and Merle, I respect him because hes like 81 years old but he could barley get on and off the stage! I have a feeling there will be one or two guests with willie he seems to enjoy that.
Not to burst anyone's bubble but Pollstar has has A LOT of wrong bonnaroo line up information over the years....I know everyone's hungry for some artist announcements (as am I) but I would take Pollstar with a grain of salt....not to say that willie wouldn't be cool.
They are really keeping a tight lid on the leaks this year!
Also I can't really see Pat Green (never even heard of him...but from his website he looks pretty mainstream country...opened for Kenny Chesney) playing at roo and Pollstar has him listed too...
Dont worry, there have been no bursted bubbles here. This info is not coming from Pollsatr anymore, it is on Willies official website under his tour schedule. It doesnt really get anymore "confirmed" than that, I dont think!

Ok, ok. I'm not saying that pollstar is always wrong...I was just saying they've been wrong in the past. Nothing worse than getting your hopes up and then not seeing your artist on the line-up!
As far as Pat Green how big of a roo fanbase would he have at his show? Unless they are introducing more mainstream country to draw in a fanbase.

PS This is the thing that scares me about bonnaroo...they are getting the try to make everyone happy (genre) mentality...while I like variety, there are genre's I like more than others and if they spread themselves too thin on everything? Yikes where's the draw at all?

Agreed on the conflict situation....but it's still good to have options not just 1 option. All I was saying is I hope it doesn't ever come to that....plus last years line up was weak on Jam overall.

Who said that it was an all "jam" festival? I'm familiar enough with the festival scene to know the difference. And there are lots of other bands I enjoy outside this genre...I just said that I felt there wasn't a strong showing of jam bands on the line up last year compared to other years. It's a fact.

i saw austin city limits on tv earlier tonight. it was kings of leon and roky erickson, which just gave me an idea. i put roky erickson in the kings of leon spot from last year.
roky erickson>willie nelson>john fogerty
while it may look alright to me, it more than likely won't work out this way

I'm not exactly thrilled about this addition to be honest..... Then again, any country artists at Roo won't thrill me I may live in Nashville but I cannot stand to listen to country of any kind. I am sure there is someone else I can see instead of him so I really don't care.

if Willie plays Roo, he would be the only act that Superfly could book who would be MORE stoned than the crowd. just a thought. i love Willie. seen him twice in concert.
i'm okay with willie nelson, he is a legend of real country music, however, he can keep his fake country buddies away from bonnaroo like kid rock, toby keith, kenny chesney, keith urban...you think bands, sorry - i meant to say entertainers - you think entertainers can't ruin bonnaroo?...there's a list of 4 that would...
I don't think Willie Nelson playing Bonnaroo means they're going to book Kid Rock, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and the lot. Pat Green or Dierks Bentley is the closest you're going to get to that crowd at Bonnaroo, and that's still a world away.
Personally, I'd love to see Emmylou Harris, Robert Earl Keen, The Flatlanders or Steve Earle play Bonnaroo next year. The more real country music at Roo, the better.
Steve Earle was there a couple years ago and he sucked BIG time
