He's good but always way to drunk on stage so his shows are hit and miss but if you have never seen him check him out he is a legend. Everyone should have him on you list of old acts to se before they died.
Ok, so I love classic country more than anyone but this is a tough one. George comes to a small town close to me every year on labor day for a free concert and while its fun, I seriously doubt he would be able to fill a slot at Bonnaroo, in an entertaining way at least.
He struggles to get through many of his songs and while its possible that he still could have a good show or two left in him, I think Roo may be better served by using his slot for someone else, and its hard for me to say that

i saw george jones once. someone gave me free tickets and had to go because he is a legend. i have to say that i was slightly disappointed. he was using a teleprompter!! for real. altho his voice was still quite good. he has so many songs that will be classic country forever.
^^^ See, I've heard many mixed things of him. That's why I want him at Roo, I want to see another legend in a legendary slot, to see if he "still has it."
And, hell, if he's not at Roo, then I'll catch his two night stint in Myrtle Beach, in July.
seeing the POSSUM in myrtle beach.... that sounds like a big party to me! i've had many memorable nites in myrtle beach
Oh yes, I have as well. I think its where every redneck in the south goes when they want to go to the beach. I'm amazed people still go there for a family vacation.
"I don't need your rockin' chair Your Geritol or Medicare. I still got neon in my veins This gray hair don't mean a thing. I do my rockin' on the stage, You can't put this possum in a cage My body's old but it ain't impaired I don't need your rockin' chair"
