AEG is doing the APW festival. If they are the ones setting up the Zeppelin tour, I would think that they would want Zeppelin to play their festival. Just food for thought.
But this is definitely the same scenario that we had last year with the Police.
I called this last year at Roo . . . seems like when a member of a classic band visits bonnaroo one year, they reunite their band and bring them back the next year
Jimmy Page would not call a press conference to announce anything other than future Zeppelin plans. When was the last time Jimmy Page had a press conference??
Quick question. If Jimmy Page is having a press conference Monday in Japan, doesn't that mean he's pretty much having a press conference tomorrow? And if JPJ is doing the Grammys telecast...well, I think you might see where I'm going with this...

^^^Actually I don't. Will JPJ not actually be at the Grammys? Where will he be? What do you think this signifies? Good call on the times zones, though.

JPJ and Plant are going to be at the Grammys (Plant's nominated, JPJ is conducting the orchestra). If the Japanese press conference is tomorrow our time, it could be a simulcast announcement with Plant and JPJ in LA post Grammy show and Page in Japan.

I checked and Japan is GMT +9, so BonnarooDetective is right, they are 14 hours ahead of EST. Therefore if the press conference were to be held in the late morning, say between 9am and noon, we can expect the news between 7pm and 10pm.

i don't really want to rain on anyones led zep dream but i don't really see any incentive for zep to play Roo or any other festivals
LZ is much bigger than the Police and LZ could probly charge the same about for one of their shows on a tour as a Roo ticket cost.
I'm not saying that the band only cares about money or anything like that, but why be part of Roo when you're (sorry to say this) bigger than Roo.
Because what better way to come out of retirement, and start a U.S. tour than by playing one of the biggest fests in the world?? All that free advertisement? Sure they dont NEED it...but it also wouldnt hurt anything to have their name and 'Bonnaroo' being tossed around in the same sentence all summer long. Plus we really have no idea how much SuperFly could be offering them in terms of $$$, $$$ from marketing and other incentives.
Also I'm not nearly as sure they could sell out a national tour at $250 a ticket. Yea that was the going rate for the reunion show, but A) That was supposed to be a 'once in a lifetime' deal and B) it was in England. But at 'Roo they get a guaranteed crowd of 80,000 and a big old chunk of revenue for the first show of the tour? Makes sense to me!
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
if the police can make 213 million in one tour, imagine what zep could do. its ridic.
I have no idea the costs of putting a tour on, but Zep could sell out football stadiums at 250 a ticket easy. I imagine it would be like Police and Van Halen, shell out big bucks for a "fan club" or "AllAccess" membership to guarantee decent tickets

^^^Probably because they all came from one, uncorroborated source. At this point we don't know for sure there is a press conference. But as I said before I think a safe bet is late morning, which translates to mid-evening for us.

I don't if this has been mentioned, I'm sure it has, but no one seemed to mention it here.
I am pretty sure Radiohead is rumored for APW. Also how could Led Zeppelin be there if they are expecting 20-30,000 people in attendence each day? Just thinking out loud..

The more I read about this, the less I think it means anything. It seems like if someone were having a Press conference, the PRESS would know more about it, but none of the major carriers are talking about it. Even if it is happening, it sure is low-key for a "Led-Zeppelin world tour announcement."
according to the original thread that the post came from Jimmy Page is going to announce that he saved a ton of money by switching his car insurance to Geico. ha!
