I don't want to speculate on what we don't know for sure, but has that stopped us before?
I keep hearing Phish on July 4th in Michigan. It has been talked about for quite some time now and just believe where there is smoke, there is fire.
But Bonnaroo has actually been mentioned within this rumor as well. Don't "hate" because I'm not sure. The talk has heated more now than since they broke up.

I have actually been thinking a lot about Phish lately, and how reuniting Phish might be the only way for Superfly to dull the pain of not getting Zeppelin this year after all the hype. I thought I heard that Mike Gordon was in South America touring this summer though.
^^ It would not dull my pain... Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a Phish reunion at roo... I just don't see myself saying "Oh, it's ok Zeps not coming, Phish is here!"

There is usually monthly rampant Phish buzz on PT and other sites. The reason for slight optimism now is the confirmed fact that Trey is doing really well with his legal/probation thing. Phish is my all time favorite band and a July 4th show in my home state would send my into a frenzy, but usually things like this sound too good to be true because they usually are. If anything, I'm hoping for a TAB tour for summer or fall '08...and like many Phish fans, I am confident in the future fulfillment of the braphecy and the reunion of Phish, but not anytime soon.

The only thing about Phish is, if they headline, you can pretty much expect there will only be one other headliner, because there is no chance they are playing any less than two nights.
I don't think Phish would be mentioned as being there as a headliner. Especially if they are having a Phish thing in Michigan. But what a way to say, "Hi, we're back and ready roll" at Roo.

If Phish plays......i'm there, the rest of the shows will go unseen by my eyes, cuz i'll be waiting in front of the what stage until the show(s).......PLEASE boys, reunite at the roo!

And if they had to do that, wouldn't it move Bonnaroo a few steps back from where the promoters are trying to take it? I mean if Phish played Saturday and Sunday, you'd have to have a reaaaally non-jamband act to play Friday. I'm not even sure who that could be.

Pearl Jam. I could actually see superfly doing this. Whether a reunited Phish would want to play Bonnaroo rather than it's own fest is another thing entirely.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
i love this . . . . every year . . . . . makes me smile and even a little hopeful . . . .but i dont get too excited. . . . . dont want to let myself down

funny you say this because i feel i would be like "thank god Phish showed up and not zeppelin."

I see it this way. Trey has fallen flat on his face at Bonnaroo on a number of occasions now (perhaps only excluding his '06 Superjam with BR duo). If I were him, I'd really be hungry to do something that gets roundly well received in front of the Roo crowd.

Oysterhead wasn't bad either. It seems 06' was his best year. I think his 02' show was pretty well received too.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
I will have some decisions to make that might be difficult. If Phish is putting together something at a Michigan Racetrack (which seems to be the buzz right now), I would have to decide between Roo and Phish in Michigan.

The only thing I think that differentiates this rumor from countless others is that MIS would be logistically perfect for a Phish festie, and since it's an obscure place which is where these things have typically been in the past. As a die hard phanatic and a resident of a MI city less than an hour from the track, I am holding out hope as slight as it may be
