That is a tough question. They all could be possibly. I guess it all boils down to how stellar a lineup they present us with this year or how much they are willing to shell out on talent.

this thought has popped in and out my head since we've known all 3 were playing. the only thing i'm not sure about is i feel they all appeal to the same crowd. willie is definitely on friday cause he's booked on sat and sun. bb's site first listed sat but he's open sunday. but i still think he's sat, maybe its because the lee boys listed the mainstage for saturday i think, and i think their music would fit well on the same stage before bb. i also think that maybe bb could get the slot that ziggy marley had last year.
but i also think that plant and krauss could be a headliner. and i think they'd fit perfect right after willie. but i'm not sure i see plant/krauss on the very first day, that is, the first day the mainstage is open. now the plant/krauss tour hasn't started yet but i'm sure they could/would make their show at least an hour-and-a-half. i remember them saying they would be playing around a couple zeppelin songs during this tour. and i think raising sand is around 40 minutes long.
i guess i think plant/krauss will be headlining because of plant's rock star status. i mean, he was the frontman for arguably the greatest hard rock band ever. maybe mr. plant has some suprises in store for us for this show, maybe a guest appearance by john paul jones or page. i mean it technically wouldn't be led zeppelin but it'd be the closest thing we could get at bonnaroo or at least until september.
and didn't tool play for only an hour-and-a-half? and the police just a little longer? i'm all for the headliners to play longer than 2 hours, i'd like to see them go closer to 3 or 4. but you can't always get what you want.
or maybe willie could be in manu chao's spot from last year, while my morning jacket does the preheadlining spot (like the roots) before the headliner, pearl jam? if mmj and willie were lined up in those spots, i think, yes they'd both be crowded, but remember how crowded white stripes were last year? there's no way willie on the which stage would be that crowded.
and i know willie is also a legend, maybe not up to plant's status, but he wasn't on the mainstage at ACL in 06. i know he was listed for the mainstage the year he was supposed to play 'roo before he pulled out. or maybe we just switch those. willie in the roots spot from last year, mmj in manu chao's.
i'd like to see mmj get a latenight again, but can they top the latenight show from 06? personally, i think they could, but do you think superfly or ac thinks they could? how about the average music fan, who may not know a whole lot about mmj? but i'm sure there's not many people going to 'roo who don't know about mmj. i just see mmj on the mainstage this year for some reason. and i'm not sure ac and superfly want a mmj repeat latenight. although galactic played latenight in 05 and 07 but both of those shows were a little different. maybe mmj will change their show up a little. maybe play with an orchestra like last year at lolla?
i really can't wait till the lineup gets announced because i love playing guess the schedule.

I definitely think so of Willie and BB. Plant & Krauss I could possibly see closing out Which Stage, or mid-day (pre-pre-headliner) on What. But yeah, maybe!

I don't think so.... Willie most likely yes. I don't see BB or Plant/Krauss as taking those spots... i see both as mid afternoon acts.
I agree with this, i definitely don't see Plant/Krauss preheadliner, a little too mellow. BB and Willie are a possibility, but i wouldn't be too suprised if none of the 3 were co-headliners.
definetly a good possiblity on willie imo...but bb might want to play early and get done...and i can see alison and robert on the which stage...in like a death cab/damien/jack johnson kinda slot...
I see BB in a tent...like Ralph Stanley or Ornette was last year...maybe Which Stage...I think he'd be lost a little on What....of course that's just based on my expiriences with him...I've only seen him in smaller clubs.
remember that time Tom Petty headlined and he brought Stevie Nicks with him and everybody was like, "OH MY GOD IT'S STEVIE NICKS!" and some dude gave me a high five? Remember that time?

Willie is Main Stage all the way.
B.B. handled the big stage at the Crossroads Fest I was at just fine. Although he was playing with some incredible musicians at the time, including Clapton.

None of them will headline maybe guest with a headliner. B.B. King will prolly only get to play on the main stage with the headliner if Eric Clapton plays. Willie might come out if DMB plays.....and Plant only if Zeppelin headlines.

I guess that I could see all three as Which Stage headliners but I suspect that we're more likely to see Willie as a preheadliner on What Stage, BB as a Which headliner and Plant and Krauss as a pre-preheadliner on What Stage. Just my hunch, though.

Tool definitely played almost 2 and a half hours. They played just at 2 hours twice when I saw them on their arena tour this past summer and they added 2 songs at Bonnaroo, both pretty decent length songs, and they tend to have interludes between the songs, so I'll say at the very least 2 hours and 20 minutes.
On another note, I don't see Plant and Krauss headlining at all. I see them maybe in the Manu Chao or Ben Harper spot of last year. Willie, I can see about the same...the late-day stage shows.
B.B. I think could definitely be in a tent. Probably where Lily Allen was last year.
