I'm from Atlanta. I've seen this band more times than I can count. I really think people are going to be in for a pleasant surprise if they've got their shit together when they play!!!!!
This IS the band that did the concept album about Moby thingy right? That thing was scary...

Yup, Leviathan was loosely based on Moby......yeah. Brilliant idea if you ask me. Check out Blood Mountain though. Their most recent (and most eclectic, IMO) work.
I had just read Moby Thingy (Did that myself so at least it would have a capital letter) when that album came out....I bought it knowing nothing about them....it's around here somewhere, scaring my other cds and stealing their lunch money.....
Hahaha...Mastodon definitely plays some heavy music, but I seriously think they'll turn some heads @ Roo! Southern stoner metal at its best if you ask me.
Check them out live when they play n hopefully they'll sway your opinion a bit.
my main mission in life is to get people to gain interest in mastodon before roo now. i really think that if people actaully gave them a chance, they could impress a lot of people with their set. anyone and everyone, hit me up on aim. ill send you blood mountain! either that or snag it on torrent or something. this band will blow your mind live! they have off nights at times, but i have a feeling, this close to home, they wont disappoint!
Like I said, I hope they have gotten their sh!t together since Vegoose. They were brutal there, which was disappointing because I was totally looking forward to seeing their set.
