Fellow Levon and Band lovers: It's time we begin to discuss the ridiculous possibilities that a Midnight Ramble at 'Roo possesses. The potential guests make me shiver with excitement. Phil Lesh perhaps? Robert Randolph? How about Warren Haynes? Greg Allman? Oh God! Discuss....
He's jammed with so many during his Rambles that the possibilities of his Roo jam are definitely endless, especially considering how many talented musicians will be surrounding him on the farm. Maybe he'll even bring down Garth with him. I can dream. He does have a pretty damn talented band with him now, but I'd love to see Warren Haynes in there with Levon throwing down some classics from Big Pink.
As long as Levon is there to ramble, I'm a happy man. One of the best, most underrated lineup additions in my opinion.
Honestly, I don't care who he plays with. I'm just so pumped to see him I can't even describe it. As soon as he plays "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", I won't even be thinking about who's playing in the band.

Conflict possibilities are scary since he's likely to be a late night set in my opinion. However, when it comes down to it man, Levon wins out over all others. It's going to be a dream set.
I'm totally psyched about this. The possibilities are endless. Warren Haynes for sure. Derek Trucks, pehaps. I could also maybe see Jakob Dylan getting in on this.

I posted this in another thread, but my buddy saw a ramble before the summer, in and around the time that Mountain Jam was going on, and the security at his farm were talking about how Phil Lesh was supposed to show up for the jam. It didn't wind up happening for one reason or another, but perhaps a rain check is in order!! I'm also thinking Little Feat could get in on this thing too. All three times I've seen them play here in Canada they have made reference to The Band. Highlight was when they closed a show with "Rag Mama Rag." Diiiiirty.
Havent seen a Levon Ramble. Does he play stuff from the band or does he play stuff off of his new cd. I'm hoping a mixture of both. Outlaw Country plays alot of Levon's new cd and there are some really good tunes.
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.

I don't think he'll be playing on the main stage, especially if it's a late night set. Don't think that's ever happened. But I'm definitely banking on late night in a tent with plenty of guests. Should be a blast.

Just because the actual shows he plays are called "midnight rambles." It's certainly not a definite, but i think it fits nicely in a late night slot with all of the potential guests.

im hoping robbie comes out and they put their differences aside for one huge jam. This is my number one, cant miss show of the weekend. I've always wanted to make it to one of his rambles and now i finally get the chance
The more i read about the Band and their history, the more i'm greatful that I was able to see Robbie Robertson at Clapton's Guitar Fest this past summer. Also makes me more excited for Levon!
also this is pretty cool. If y'all are wondering what songs Levon sings (or plays drums or Mandolin or bass etc) from The Band's discography this is the place to look!
