Alright I LOVE bluegrass. I'm going through the list and I see alot of names I know are affiliated with bluegrass yet i haven't really gotten into yet.
I'm really excited about Plant and Krauss, and the Avetts (I know not really "bluegrass" but they fit into that category among many others) I've heard great things about Bela, Sam Bush, and Jerry Douglas. Will the Allstar Bluegrass band be a giant Jam? will they be playing each other's songs? Is YMSB bluegrass?
What Bluegrass band are y'all excited for and think i should look into?

Don't rip on Old Crow, they both have different styles and they are both great at what they do. OCMS is alot more traditional old-timey bluegrass while YMSB is more jam oriented bluegrass that incorporates mandolin into the sound
go to archive.org for yonder mountain shows you can hear alot of tasty sbds. and if you havent listened to bela fleck before check him out he is a banjo virtuoso
This year has the best selection of bluegrass music of any year. I am thrilled about YMSB being back, that Bluegrass Allstars show is just going to be sick, plus anytime I can see Bela twice in a weekend I am thrilled so I'll def check out Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet. Not to mention the Avett Bros and Allison Krauss being on the farm.
i am extremely hyped for the grass at roo. The Bluegrass allstars are going to kick sooo much ass it wont be funny. I have been wanting to see yonder for along time and now i can in a great setting so im happy about that. Good year for bluegrass.
true...only problem is OCMS isnt any good at playing traditional bluegrass.
Care to explain your view? As for comparing them to YMSB -- it's just inappropriate. Outside of their pure roots, they're really not on the same page when it comes to their approach.
I'm happy to see all of this bluegrass at Bonnaroo this year. I don't think I ever remember seeing this many great bluegrass artists in one year at the farm. It'll really fit the farm perfectly in Tennessee on a hot June weekend.
Though, I'm from Kentucky (Adairville/Russellville/Bowling Green to be exact) I can't say I've ever been into too much Bluegrass... this is beginning to change.
Allison Krausse is a major reason I've come into it, but this year I plan on diversifying my concerts a bit, and it seems that this year is heavy on the awesome BG.
OCMS isn't bluegrass. They're neo-classic country. YMSB are the best newgrass band out there. I'm really looking forward to the bluegrass allstars jam. Bela Fleck is awesome live. I saw him live last year with the Flecktones at the Ryman in Nashville. I'm super excited they're adding more bluegrass to this years lineup.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

I'm psyched on this genre, this year, for sure.
I started off with mountain tracks volume 2 and i am really, really digging it! In fact, i'm going to get volume 1 right now
technically OCMS is jug band music. Not really bluegrass. I love em still. Bela is one of my fav musicians. The allstars are going top be insane the more I look at all the grass the more pumped I get
