Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am a skinny guy, so obviously this question doesn't pertain to me, but do you think more people at Bonnaroo lose weight from the constant walking or do you think roo'ers are more apt to gain weight from eating vendor food and drinking alcohol all day?
I didn't notice any difference one way or the other. I think the fair amount of activity counters the food / liquor nicely. That and the fact you are awake for like 20 out of the 24 hours every day helps to burn it all off.

Ha, this is a good question. I would think that an average person may lose a couple pounds (regardless of weight) as they walk around the festival in the heat and whatnot. Most of it's probably water-weight (maybe?) or something. With all the walking that I will do at the fest, I doubt that any vendor food or beer (Mmmm, magic hat) will stick with me after I leave the fest. I'm gonna do an experiment, I'm gonna weigh myself before I leave and when I get home. I'll report back, good question!
Sidenote: I was thinking about getting the old metabolism up for 'roo this year. Maybe do some running for a week or so believe I leave, just so my body doesn't inherit as much strain as it did when I went in 2004.
You are walking around in 90+ temperatures for 3 to 4 days, probably walking a few miles per day carrying bookbags, beers, chairs, ect, and you are probably up for 20 of the 24 hours per day like Heavy C was saying, so I definitely think that people are losing weight. Just dont drink heavy beers all weekend, throw a couple lite ones in there and you are good to go.
I am planning on starting to ride my bike this week and walk daily, but it has been raining off and on all week here in Pittsburgh. So soon as the weather breaks I am going to start trying to get into a little better shape and some better conditioning so when I get there I will be fine fine fine and let the party begin

i think i lost a couple pounds at last year's roo, because of all the distractions i forgot to eat a bunch of times (which never happens in real life!!!) but i'm pretty sure i found them again soon after

I'm a big guy, around 6' 2" and been floating around 280 pounds for years. I work hard out in the sun, eat right, and hardly lose an ounce. I don't think Roo's taking me down very much
I'm in the "normal" weight range, but I have a pot belly that I want to get rid of before I go to roo. I've been going to Weight Watchers for a few weeks and so far I've lost 4.8 pounds (my goal is 13-15 pounds). I plan to eat and drink whatever I want at roo. I just assumed that meant I would put the weight back on, but I didn't factor in the heat and walking around. I bet it'll even out and I'll stay pretty much the same weight.
