I'm not all to familiar with Lez Zeppelin but I'm going to assume based on their invitation to the roo that they are decent performers and know there Zep. So is anyone at least thinking since Plant is going to be there perhaps he will join them on the stage. I don't think we are going to get Zeppelin and in now way would this be anything like seing Paige, Jones, Plant and Bonham's son but it may be as close as we are going to get and I for one think it would be a fairly decent show. I will def. take it and was just curious how you all felt about this and if you would be interested in seeing it go down?
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.
Yeah I have heard that they aren't bad and I would think that with Plant being there this year that they for sure wouldn't put up some crappy cover band to do his tunes...I think it is an all chic band but I am not up on their sexual preference. I just want to hear the voice that is the PLANT!

I'm not even planning on seeing this female cover band. They're a cover band. I think it's sad really that Bonnaroo has booked theses chicks. It's basically a band playing Zeppelin tunes, actually it reminds me of some kind of Zeppelin karoake thing. Pathetic. Okay, so they can probably play Zeppelin tunes good. But they're not Zeppelin. When it comes to Zeppelin, I'm only in if it's the real thing or at least has one original member. That's why Plant/Krauss will be the closest thing for me. They'll play some Zeppelin songs, they may be a little different than how Zeppelin plays them, but Plant/Krauss is it for me, unless the real Zeppelin does show up. If I want to hear someone cover some Zeppelin, I'll play Zeppelin songs on my guitar and sing along. The fact that Superfly got stuck in a bind and had to book a cover band to make up for no Led Zeppelin is what I think is sad.

its not sad...im pretty sure theyre mocking the folks who were all about the real Zep being there. are you not gonna go see DSO as well? because DSO will play GD songs as good as Phil and friends (the vocals are clsoer to the original even). i mean im gonna go see lez zep and if they suck, Ill leave but if they dont, fuck yeah, im down to listen to some lesbians play led zeppelin.
Totally with ya! I have been to see the DMB cover band and they are really good! And with roster of songs like Zep has I am sure that they will put there own twist and I think they are more so trying to pay homage to one of the greatest rock bands of all time! I checked em out! Not bad the guitar player is pretty freakin awesome! Maybe this link will work
Wouldn't interest me...I've seen Plant solo...he does Zep tunes...it's good but the magic's not there...it's a whole being greater than the sum of it's parts thing I think....seeing him do those songs with other musicians just isn't the same....I'd rather see him doing other stuff.
I saw Lez Zeppelin a year or so ago and they freakin rocked. They ooze sexuality. Very nice. Sexy time No but seriously, I think I remember them saying something at the show how they met Robert Plant at a show, in NYC, and he really dug them and came up on stage and sang a couple tunes.

I thought that was Never the Bride....but I could be wrong.

Okay, this is a tad silly.
1) Lez Zeppelin did not get booked because Led Zeppelin wasn't available. 2) Are you saying that you playing your guitar and singing along is the same caliber of an artist booked to perform at Bonnaroo? If so, you might want to contact AC Superfly. Bonnaroo can be lucrative! 3) If you haven't heard them, how is it that you've deemed them pathetic? 4) Karaoke? I think not. These woman play the instruments and sing.
There are lots of awesome cover bands out there and some that aren't so awesome. Try 'em, you might like 'em!
1) theyre actually not lesbians... its just their name
2) I HIGHLY DOUBT Plant will play with them. a) he's on a tight schedule and is only flying in for one day b) he doesnt want to strain his voice since he's on tour.
i mean, it's possible i guess but not very likely.

^^^Yes. We already know that Plant is the kind of chap who doesn't just run around and play with whoever. He probably admires Lez Zep, but that's a far cry for wanting to jump on stage with them and sing his own songs. That's just not who he is. Like someone else said, Lesh getting on with DSO is a lot more likely... I'd even expect some of the original members of Little Feat to guest with Zapppa Plays Zappa before Plant sings with Lez Zep.

By my count there are four cover/partial cover bands on the Roo lineup this year - DSO, Lesh, ZPZ and Lez Zeppelin. And WTF does them being female have to do with anything?

to hear plant sing zep would be awesome, but i must say it wouldnt have the "magic" as actual zep (or as close as we can get)..that being said, i would def like it if plant played with them........but id much rather see phil with DSO IMHO
anyone who can even marginally play Zep songs is a respectable musician. people forget how intricate and complex some of Zeps stuff is with crazy keys and time signatures and off the wall riffs. of all the bands to cover, they picked one of the most challenging. anyone who compares it to karaoke needs to get a clue.
Plant didn't sing in the warm up before their O2 concert, he probably won't sing with a cover band =/ plus he is playing every day up till sunday, not too much time for him
I brought this up earlier on the "Here lies Led Zeppelin rumor" thread. Sounds like a no go though. Lez Zep should be pretty cool anyways, something different to check out.
