if umphreys doesnt play late night im probaly going to end my streak of every bonnaroo and go to rothbury just for sts9 panic and phil.i would hate to do that.(superfly im talking to YOU
I saw UM at Echo during the day and they really brought it. What Im saying is I will be at Umphreys set no matter what time they play and I dont want to have to miss some killer latenights (like MMJ in 06)

Did you happen to see the guy painting near the front left if your facing the stage. by where the VIP's could get brewskies asap
I am all about some late night ladytron and Ghostland!
Ladytron has a show in Atlanta on Friday and currently has Bonnaroo listed for Sunday. Technically, the Saturday late-night is on sunday, but it's hard to tell which it will be. I think Ghostland is very likely. Maybe they'll do a split with !!! and/or MIA.
I'd really like to see MMJ and Kanye/Kweli/Fiasco get the main stage late-nights, but I'm not sure where Phil Lesh would end up. I know a lot of folks think he'll shut it down with a long set on Sunday, but right now it looks like Jack Johnson has that spot. How he'll fill 2-3 hours I have no idea.
I'm really really counting on a Sigur Ros late-night, but I'm afraid it will conflict with Kanye (easy choice) or MMJ (very tough choice).

Ghostland Observatory is fairly low on the list to be a latenight on friday or saturday, I think they will be playing around midnight thursday night. So I think they will conflict with Back Door Slam, which would suck donkey balls for me.

Umphrey's was a day show in 2005 and it wasn't bad. I really see Phil getting a late night which stage show one night and Kanye doing the which stage the other. I believe Sigur Ros will have the MMJ spot from 06. This is unless Kanye does a Thursday headliner but I doubt that. I think MMJ will be mainstage preheadliner this year.
mastodon, back door slam and dark star orchestra thur. my morning jacket, superjam, umphrey's mcgee, ghostland observatory fri. the mars volta, sigur ros, m.i.a. sat. phil & friends sun.
Thur: Dark Star Orchestra Friday: Kanye/Kweli/Fiasco, Ghostland/!!!, Umphrey's, SuperJam Saturday: Phil Lesh, Levon Helm, Sigur Ros, electronic bands to be announced
Sunday: Jack Johnson closes like his website has been saying he will all along (preceded by Plant&Krass and OAR with Death Cab on the which stage)
I think MIA will play the which stage on Saturday. Same with MMJ on whichever night they play (which I think was originally reported as Friday on pollstar before the lineup was released).

Last night's latenight was pretty amazing, but it had conflicts galore. Friday night was the worst, I think...Aesop Rock, EL-P, and DJ Shadow all conflicted with STS9. Actually Saturday wasn't any better...The Flaming Lips went on at the same time as Galactic and Sasha & Digweed. Thankfully I was there for the whole Sasha & Digweed set. 1:30 AM to 7 AM.
LET'S OPEN 27 STAGES AND HAVE NO MUSIC DURING THE DAY... LET'S JUST MAKE EVERYONE AT NIGHT?!?!
That would help with the torture of mid-day heat.
glad someone agrees with me... i'm sure Superfly will have no problem building 23 air conditioned stadiums for which we can enjoy all our late nights! :-)

1. Ghostland( please )- wouldnt be the same if they didnt play at night. I HOPE they do a late night Thursday. That would make my ROO. 2. Whch Stage Late night- I think it will be 2 of these 4 MMJ/ Allmens/ Kanye/phil lesh 3. Tents- Sigar rios, umphrees, if moe or mars volta sign on
a.) Sigur Ros is way too big of a band to play a tent b.) My Morning Jacket's fanbase has grown in the past few years. They'll be on the What or Which Stage. c.) Levon Helm would never be a latenight act
I'm thinking: Friday: Kanye on Which Saturday: Sigur Ros on Which
Other latenights: Gogol Bordello, Ghostland Observatory, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco

a) Last year, the late night bands on the stage were listed 7th (FLips) and 9th (STI) on the lineup. I think we'll find the the acts doing late night on the stage in the top 10. Gov't Mule was listed #15 and Sigur Ros is listed #14 for now. b) I think you're probably right about this. c) From what I can tell, right now, Levon Helm is doing really long sets on his Midnight Ramble tour. If he's not headlining, then a late-night seems likely to me. Same with Phil Lesh.

I think it would be a big mistake to put MMJ as a pre-headliner solely for the lack of playing time they will get. Also, I doubt Sigur Ros will get late night which stage, theyre too far back on the list like you said.

after gogol bordello's 1 pm set at vegoose the singer said to the crowd, "see you again soon, and it better be AT NIGHT!" and I really hope this will be the case at bonnaroo
has there ever been more than one artist on the Which late night bill? has Superjam ever taken place there? I ask because Kanye seems a natural late night, and with his ego, rep and pricetag I'd guess he'd get a highly billed spot, but it just makes so much sense to group him with Lupe and Kweli like they have for hip hop in the past. could we have a sort of psuedo-superjam hip hop style where they all share the same stage with only one set break? always seemed to me that a hip hop superjam would be a natural thing thing to do. ever since I saw Dave Chapelle's Block Party I wondered, "why can't Bonnaroo pull the same style of show at night?" this kind of format is pretty much the only way to get me to watch a Kanye set

It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
