Against Me! (playing at Bonnaroo this year) and Serji Tankian (lead singer of System of a Down) opened up for the Foo Fighters at Binghamton Univ. on Friday night and let me tell you guys. They are from Gainseville, FL, and they have some hit song on the Radio right now. They played a sick show though guys, and really got the crowd going even though you could tell alot of people had no clue who they were, they opened up with a bang and it never stopped. If you guys have never heard of them I suggest given them a listen too and maybe go to their stage in June. They kind of sound like The Offspring to me, which is a good thing, I met the lead singer after and he was apretty chill dude. The Foo Fighters were effing amazing too, the best show Ive ever seen.
Is there any chance at all that Foo will bet there?

some good songs by them are as follows: Thrash Unreal (there hit song) Dont Lose Touch (my personal favorite) White People for Peace Turn Those Clapping Hands... Problems
Ill update this as I hear more, the guys voice is pretty unique, as I said it reminds me of the Offspring with a hint of Modest Mouse.
listened to "don't lose touch" and a couple others last night. just not my cup of tea i guess.
same here.
I've heard a lot of hype for these guys, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it's all about. It all sounds like heard-it-all-before pop-punk to me.

I saw Against Me! about 2 years ago. I won tickets on the radio and really had no idea who they were at the time, but it was a great show. I'm excited to see them again, now that I actually know some of the songs
I am going to the show on Thursday. I am getting excited to see Against Me! of course the Foo as well. GA floor should make for a great show with lots of energy

It's all about their live shows, and the following they've cultivated over the past ten years. In all seriousness, seeing Against Me! live is almost like a religious experience, at least for me. They're definitely not your run of the mill pop-punk band, although their latest album is very mainstream. They have deep roots in the anarcho-folk movement, and made their mark with guerrilla style performances in just about any venue that would have them, whether it was a laundromat, a basement, a small club, or large arenas.
well, I'm seeing them open for the Foo Fighters in a month or so, so I guess we'll see...
I've seen a lot of shows, and in particular a lot of punk shows (real punk, played by people not looking to make a buck, at the Royal Albert Arms, a true punk dive). I know what punk rock is all about, and it really bothers me to see people dressing up like punks (punk rock isn't a fashion show, you can wear your fucking blue jeans if you want), spewing off some garbage about fighting the establishment and shit without any substance to back it up.

I saw a youtube video of them playing a show, the video showed the a scan of the crowd going crazy, and then it got a little closer and you could see the guitar player in the middle of the crowd then you see the lead singer in the crowd too, they were just playing in the crowd and everyone was going absolutely nuts. The lead singer has a really catchy voice and the beats really compliment it. They are just a fun band that likes to have fun with the crowd instead of just playing.
I heard the song Thrash Unreal on the radio a few times and liked it but didnt think it was a great song, then I saw them live on Friday and I cant stop listening to them because they played such a fun live show and that I wasnt expecting it at all during the opening act. I actually was rocking too hard that I had to move back a few rows and just chill for a few of Serg Tankians songs.
Im glad to hear people are liking AM! Ive been a long time fan and think they will be a great addition to bonnaroo. Ive seen them about 12 times in the last 4 years and their live show is the reason you hear songs on the radio. up untill about a year ago you wouldnt have believed someone if they said they heard them on any radio station outside of florida and maybe tennessee. If you really want to discover them listen to their "Cowboy Eternal" albumand their acoustic "Crime" EP. awesome stuff. cant wait to see them again.

Love Against Me!. They're a very prolific band as well. 4 full CDs, several EPs and constant touring all since about 2001. I would recommend As The Eternal Cowboy for the uninitiated. Reiniventing Axl Rose and Searching for a Former Clarity both have many merits as well.
I thought the new CD was lacking but they bring such an energy to their live shows. I'm sure that they'll win over many skeptics. Give their show a chance if you have a free minute.

I saw them last night in Detroit with the Foo Fighters and after hearing so many good things about their live show I was dissapointed. I dont know if they were just having an off night or what. They had very little energy and it felt like they just called it in. But they sounded good.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
Listen to Searching for a Former Clarity 2005 As the Eternal Cowboy 2003 Reinventing Axl Rose 2002 Very very good stuff. Saw them here in gainesville and it was awsome. They sing a ton of their old stuf and everyone sings along. At the end of the show they sang We Laugh at Danger and the crowd rushed the stage and they keep playing while everyone danced and sang...It was unreal
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I saw the aforementioned band last night in Phoenix and man did they rock. I was armed only with the knowledge I'd picked up from this forum and thought oh boy, these guys are going to suck. Man was I wrong. They rocked the house down. The have now moved up on the list of things to see at roo.
Serji Tankian was weird as all getout. What was even more weird was the 6 year old that was sitting behind me knew every word to every song he sang.
Foo Fighters rocked my face off. Literally. My face is gone. I had to wear a hat today so my the sun wouldn't get on my face meat.
