And two acts on the second disc of uncut performances really jumped out at me as artists I'd like to see at Roo.
The first was Fun Lovin' Criminals, a band I really enjoyed a few years back. Well apparently the Brits love them too because I've never seen a crowd that massive go completely apeshit like they did during "Scooby Snacks". It looked as though there were 75,000 people jumping up and down in complete unison and the band was loving every minute of it. Here's some youtubage:
The second, which has caused me to gain a profound appreciation for them after seeing them perform, was Goldfrapp. The visuals were amazing and they had two incredibly hot dancers who constantly go through costume changes shaking it during "Strict Machine". I have surround sound and the bass on regular volume rattled my windows, so I could only imagine what it was like there. They sort ofgive me the same vibe as Brazilian Girls, only a little darker. That whole dvd has crowds jumping up and down like that. I really wish American crowds were like that. I remember at the Beck show in '06, I was sure during "E-Pro" everyone would sing the "na na, na na na na na na" part, yet I was the only person, at least where I was, singing it.
And Glastonbury's definitely got the best booking when it comes to festivals. They have an amazing lineup year after year. It's definitely got every other fest beat. They also have a lot more side show things. I'm hoping to go one year
The only problem I have with Glastonbury are the copious amounts of mud and flooding. Seems like it'd put a big damper on your weekend if your tent was a foot deep in rain
