Just got back from Flogging Molly. Put on a great show as always! The new stuff all sounds good to. I hadn't heard of either opening act, but decided to make it their to check them out. I'm glad I did because they were both awesome! The Mighty Stef were a group of guys from Dublin. HAd some songs that sounded like toned down FG stuff and others that mixed blues, soul and country. Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band were a three-piece from Indiana who played some fun folk/bluegrass type music and had some great jams mixed in. The guy was insane on the guitar. I know they are playing a few small festivals and the Mighty Stef are headed back to Ireland, but I definitely recommend catching either if you get a chance. If you're going to the Flogging Molly tour make sure to go early to catch them..

They are SO good live...I saw them WITH Gogol once...one of the best shows I've ever been at....so much energy in both bands! Flogging really belongs at Roo.

BTW....their new record came out today...haven't heard the whole thing yet, but so far so good.

I'm enjoying it right now with a complementary pint, it is excellent. So far tracks 4 and 6 really standout.
