Saw the Black Crowes 2 nights ago at the Owensboro Sportscenter and just wanted to express a very healthy desire to see them at Bonnaroo. Their new songs are very strong and they jammed like crazy.
Great show and I urge anybody that has a concert coming near them to go and see them. They are at the top of their game once again.
Their new album, Warpaint, is awesome, especially the songs "Walk Believer Walk" and "Whoa Mule". Luther Dickinson, from North Mississippi Allstars, is awesome on guitar.
Their new album is phenomenal! I can't stop playing it since it came out last week. If they don't get added this year, please Bonnaroo gods let them come in '09!

I loveeee Luther Dickinson's playing. I saw him with Gov't Mule last year at Roo and I was absolutely blown away. I had to ask someone next to me who it was, he was THAT good.

Been there saw there standard colledge set 45 mins and its balloons in the parking lot 4 laughs cause there wes a standard set played very nice due there perfomance yet at the same time disapointing at the same time.
I love me some Black Crowes!!! I've seen them several times, and I believe one of them was at Vegoose 2 years ago, so they have the Superfly ties, so hopefully we can get them at the farm next year. I think they are a little big to be added at this point for this year.

I heard alllll about it from my friends at work. I tried to make it to the Sportscenter after I got off work, but they were already on the bus, waiting to head out. I was pretty sad, I at least wanted pics with them since I couldn't see them.

the black crowes are my very favorite band ever next to pink floyd. i would have LOVED for them to play Roo this year, but perhaps next year.
their new album is growing on me. i love it, don't get me wrong, but so far its not taking the place of amorica.
Have you listened to Chris and Rich's solo stuff during the hiatus? I think that you can distinctly hear Chris's NEM sound and Rich's sound (ala Paper) on this record.
It's clear that they are in different places musically, which is cool.
I like the new album too. More and more each time I listen to it. It's not your father's Black Crowes though... It's a more mature sounding band now.
They still wear their influences on their sleeve and I think that's great. Stones (Wee Who See the Deep), Floyd (Oh Josephine sounds so much like Fearless at the end), The Band, Gram Parsons, etc., are all there.
Good stuff. I too mish they were playing the 'Roo. Oh well. Now I'm still hoping that Marc Ford will be there...
