I hear those boys in GWAR put on a good stage show
im not really a fan, but i saw a little bit of one of their shows and it was extremely amusing...all the costumes, special costumed guests, and the colored water made to appear as blood
as for other shows that have impressed me...nin, tool, kiss, and who could forget the intensity of pantera...another memorable show was seeing gravity kills in a club setting and getting on stage, the singer rubbing my head, then bouncers grabbing me and taking me back to the crowd
I saw this band, Monotonix, in Birmingham, AL Thursday. They are from Isreal. (reminded me of Gogol Bordello) It was the best show I have seen in a long time. And I saw the Flaming Lips in December. It was f'in insane. I am not sure the show would work on a large scale like Bonnaroo.
I have to add Rodrigo y Gabriela from Roo last year. That was one amazing live show.
There's no way to pick a best but Gwar is a lot of fun. So is Gogol Bordello. Tool put on an amazing show last year. RATM is one sick live band. From years back - Rush puts on a great show. The Moody Blues with a full orchestra is a site to see. Midnight Oil also put on a show overloaded with energy.

gwar was the most entertaining show ive ever been to not even that big of fan. warning you will be covered in fake blood,cum, and ooze and wont be able to hear for a few days.
i'd say the best live show award goes to pink floyd sad i will never see it
I hear you man I swear I still clean some of the crap from that show out of the nook and crannies of my body/hair. It's a fun time even if the music isnt the the greatest on earth
