yay! tiesto is going to blow my mind. i've been waiting for the announcement of who would fill the spot of sasha & digweed and i'm not at all disappointed. he's one of (if not THE) biggest DJ in the world. and i love his motto:
"I feel the energy from the crowd and I try to give it back, to create a unity."
My opinions (like anyone cares): Tiesto - Meh. They could've gotten a better electronic act (like Justice or Simian Mobile Disco) Stephen Marley - He's alright. Not really my thing, but I might check him out. (They also could've done better here. Three words: Lee "Scratch" Perry)
Scratch Perry kind of sucks now. He's old and he half asses it a lot from what I gather.
As for Tiesto, I agree, sort of. The only problem is Justice and Simian Mobile Disco aren't necessarily the kind of djs who can close out a Saturday late night at Bonnaroo. Their sets are more 60-90 minute sets which is about half what you need to fill the time slot.
Yeah, but a 60-90 minute kick-ass electro show is better than four hours of Euro-dance trash.
I just listened to Felix Da Housecat's new one and they totally should have gotten him

I agree, but the situation calls for quantity over quality. It wouldn't be Bonnaroo if there wasn't an electronica tent going 'til dawn. He may not be my fave, But Tiesto fills a crucial niche and I will probably wind up at his tent dancing after everybody else has stopped playing.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

And that is one advantage Coachella has over Bonnaroo. Yes, I know they've booked Tiesto before, but they've booked a hell of a lot more insanely awesome electronic acts.
That said, is anyone else hoping A-Trak (Kanye's dj) will throw it down in the discoteque one night. He does solo shows, and I'd love to see it happen
