Explosions in the Sky This seems like a band that would fit right in... They come back from across the sea right a week or so before roo. What are the chances??? And what does everyone think of them? Anyone i should check out if i like them?
what's there style cause we have never heard of them?
Instrumental, epic, glacial rock. Really good stuff and definitely a worthy live band. Last I heard, though, they were planning on taking some time off since they've been touring for a year straight or so
Yeah, I'm not able to find it on their website, but I remember reading somewhere on there that after the All Tomorrows Parties 2008 festival ending on May 31 they are taking a substantial amount of time off. The festival is "probably the single most exciting thing we've ever been involved in. Please try and come." So I don't see them following up with a one off at bonnaroo after their most exciting thing they've every been a part of.
Explosions is by far one of my all time favorites and I would love to welcome them to the roo.
I'd really say highly unlikely they are there. They did say they were planning on taking pretty much the rest of the year off after the festival they are producing. That would also be a fairly big name for Superfly to drop this late into it. Highly unlikely, but extremely welcomed. Great Band!
Saw them open for Smashing Pumpkins last fall in Greensboro. They put on a great show. You have to be in the right mood for them but they were excellent. Bring em on!

Plenty of corn = right mood for me... These guys are OUTSTANDING but will not be added to Roo this year unfortunately. Check out the last leg of their tour if you can though.
Their show is absolutely epic...very moving music and they are extremely into it when they play. The guys are pretty talented performers. Too bad they are going to be on hiatus here soon though
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
Man i saw them during the Anti-Pop Tour in Orlando and I was blown away by the end of the set i was in a trance with my eyes closed enjoying every moment it.. I was front row and recommend anyone who sees them to be up front u get a great feel when ur that close..
I got my Colbert ticket in late Feb, so that kind of sealed the deal for me, since I didn't know EITS were coming at te time. I could have easily sold my Colbert ticket for $50+, but I really wanted to see him.
And he was amazing. I thought he was going to do everything in character, but I was very pleasently suprised that he didn't. EITS will have to wait.

Even though EITS don't like the term post-rock, I don't see Superfly booking two big name post-rock bands. Though I would be very happy to see Sigur Ros and Explosions In The Sky in one festival.
