This makes me a little angry in a way. I wonder if Coachella had an idea it would happen when they originally released the lineup. Who was originally going to headline Saturday there? I love Roos lineup, but I would LOVE a big add like this. I am so very jealous!!
now i wonder if it was added as a result of everyone on the coachella board bitching about JJ and roger waters headlining (i dunno how you could bitch about waters though :\ )
i wonder if we bitch a lot roo will get another big headliner. I hopes so because at this point im looking and selling my roo tickets to a friend to even out my lolla tix
I was really excited about seing PJ play for 3 hours or more. pretty much everyone i wanted to see though, ive seen. (willie, pj, mastodon, allman, catpower, tegan&sara, etc.....)
whats sad though, is that this year, if i would have been told "oh, MTV owns bonnaroo" i would believe it. (assuming i knew nothing about roo )
im still considering going because, #1 pj for hours... #2 its roo but the cost vs my expectations look bleak.

This pisses me off, since Goldenvoice came out and SAID there were no plans to add Prince to the lineup. And so they did. It's like with Superfly and Metallica, except personally I'd rather have Prince than Metallica.

Edit: this is a response to Chandler, which took me so long to write, was responded to by several other people before I posted.
^^I can only give you my personal opinion as a fan of Prince's and of Metallica's pre-Black music...
It is my opinion that, despite putting out some music that I haven't liked during the course of his career, Prince has maintained his artistic integrity and adapted to changes in the music industry and in technology.
Metallica, on the other hand and in my opinion, have consistently made music that I do not like since And Justice for All. In my opinion they have drifted about artistically, never returning to the raw power of their early music and also not evolving into anything new or fresh. Also in my opinion, they have fought technology rather than finding ways to use it to their and their fans' advantage.
That is why I personally would rather see Prince at Bonnaroo than Metallica.
Can we please stop depressing me about Coachella already? I would love to go, but alas...too poor and it's right before finals. I would give my right...boob...to be able to see PRINCE and Aphex Twin and Pendulum and Above and Beyond...etc etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm REALLY excited about Bonnaroo, but Coachella's lineup is really good too.
As someone else mentioned, Lolla and now Coachella really nailed the headliners this year. I really, really like Metallica. But I would so much rather have Prince in a roo "atmosphere."
