I've got a little techno and but I'm looking to get a little more into it and wanted to see if anyone can suggest any good groups. Of course I've heard of Chemical Bros but want something else..
The type I enjoy is usually upbeat or fast, maybe a little more psychadelic sounding and not too much of the normal piano sound. Not trying to limit my horizons but I'd like to start there and expand. I do like theivery corporation because of the different sounds they have.
oh man...I don't even know where to start. if you mean "techno" as in the actual sub genre of electronic music that originated in Detroit...check some Ritchie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Shiva, Titonton Duvonte....
but if you are just using "techno" in the popular general sense that most people do...I don't even know where to begin.
for some cool psychedelic stuff check out Infected Mushroom. hmm...you should look at the DJs thread I started, there are some good suggestions in there.
Get some Particle. Though officially they go under the category "space porn funk," I find that they often appeal to techno fans. And they're really good.

thanks johnny...will do.... but yes, anything that falls under the title, i like faster beat dance music with a psychadelic feel to it but without all the piano sound(i didn't say keyboard)..
lilia, yeah i've been hearing some good things about particle and am going to check them out..missed them last year, hoping they come back...and anything labeled space funk sounds like my type of music..

There is so much to choose from, hard to know what to recommend first. If you like Chemical Brothers, you'd probably like Crystal Method as well. My personal favorite is The New Deal, they play livetronica/breakbeat, house, etc. (they were at Bonnaroo last year). Also good are Sound Tribe Sector 9, Particle, DJ Logic (he plays a wide range of stuff, and plays with MMW a lot). I'll try and think of some more...
Here it is: donald glaude - Album: "Off the Hook" (house/Hard House) DJ Enrie -album: "Turn it up"(house/Hard house/Disco House Paul OakenFold(trance/house all Underworld(Live....Good stuph) Carl Cox((Techno) Dj HArry(house, Known for String Cheese remixes) Above are some great dj's to get your collection started, combining house/hard house/Techno and Trance. It may take a little time for you to discern the genre, but enjoy
George Acosta Tiesto Dieselboy (Drum n Bass) Nick Warren LTJ Bukem (he's got some super sweet tracks, and he drops some rhymes in a few of them [constellation], and 'cosmic interlude' i can just get lost in)
There's a lot more, those are just a few off the top of my head...
Oakenfold did a set in Cleveland once called Nitrous Oxide. I don't believe it was ever released but I heard it once at a club owner's place (he had recorded it during the show). Oakie managed to perfectly simulate the nitrous experience with music. Fishing out to that was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. I was a fan before I heard that set, I have been in awe ever since.

Back in October, at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans, I saw Paul Oakenfold, Rabbit in the Moon, and the tail end of Bad Boy Bill....they are all great. Also Particle is really good. I saw Josh Wink last year at Roo and he is tons of fun. I also love when DJ Z-Trip spins with Galactic. Check them out. ;D
I was at Ultra in Miami last month and from my own personal experience with these guys live and their studio stuff, you've got to check them out. Most have already been suggested
Rabbit in the Moon (crazy guys, man!) Paul Oakenfold Tiesto FERRY CORSTEN!!! Paul van Dyke (he's so yummy live) Sasha
That's a start. How many of you folks are the techno types? Didn't think I'd see that many here

i would aslo add the obvious to this board STS9 and particle not to "techno" but its funky electronica the New Deal is also tight..
Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions... by inhibiting our decisions, out of... out of fear of some... some intangible parent figure who... who shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says... and says, "Do it - Do it and I'll fu(kin' spank you."
