I see a few things I want to see this summer, but I am not sure what I want to see..here are the choices:
Dave Matthews Band with Keller Williams or Galactic as openers7/2 or 7/3 @ SPAC, NY..tickets will run about 50 when said and done.
311,The Roots, and MMW Mid July at Jones Beach, NY or in NJ..ticket will be about $37
Lollapalooza probably sometime mid August staring Morrisey, String Cheese, Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse,PJ Harvey, BMRC, Gomez and others. This is a two day festival $30 for one day and $50 for both days.
Siren Festival mid July at Coney Island, NY This is free, but will cost me about $20 to get there with train ride and crowds of 50,000+ for the one day and is not very big area wise.
• Death Cab For Cutie • • Blonde Redhead • • Har Mar Superstar • • TV On The Radio • • Constantines • • The Fiery Furnaces • • The Fever • • The Ponys • • Your Enemies Friends
The Siren Festival SOUNDS AMAZING for a free festival...there's my vote!
Otherwise, the Lollapalooza lineup will be grand, but all the dates will be in big ol' crappy outdoor venues, so who knows how well some of those indie bands will translate. For some reason, I don't see the Walkmen (who are so awesome live) going over too well in some big ol' expansive lawn area.
I need to put a 1 in front of that 50,000 and that was last years attendence at Siren.I read an article on the Siren Festival today on pollstar and it said that there were 150,00 ppl there last year. I don't mind crowds as long there is enough room for it, but Coney Island is not the best place to hold 100,00 plus. The Palloza tour is looking better by the sec.
Well....personally the only artist i really really adore out of all those listed is Keller. I can imagine Keller and Dave bein pretty awesome. So there's my vote.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I wish that Keller would have come back to Bonnaroo this year. The first year with the later night set of Keller and Cheese was one of my highlights of the weekend. Never could get enough of him.
Just go to all of them. I'm definately going to DMB and Keller in Pitt., Lollapoluza, Phish, and if I have enough money left 311 & the Roots. And then maybe Jack Johnson & G-love.
Hey LIGuy, I'm from the area, too. Maybe we'll be seeing eachother at some of the shows.
I'm looking to check out most of the ones that you mentioned, plus a couple of others (I'm too weak):
. Guster, Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds . The Dead . Allman Brothers . Curiosa: The Cure Interpol The Rapture Mogwai Muse Cooper Temple Clause Melissa Auf De Maur Cursive Head Automatica Thursday . Phish . and probably oodles more that I haven't even heard yet.
If I had to choose, I'd say Lollapalooza, though. Just can't beat that (besides Bonnaroo of course ;D). But they're all great...
Yay for summer music! And these decisions being the biggest ones that I have to make for months.

Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions... by inhibiting our decisions, out of... out of fear of some... some intangible parent figure who... who shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says... and says, "Do it - Do it and I'll fu(kin' spank you."
