I think you should take your sister. Just think, she'll look up to you and be grateful for the rest of her life and you'll still get to see a good show. Don't you wish that someone had done that for you when you were that age? I'm bringing my little brother to Bonnaroo this year. He's 18 and this will not only be his first festival, it will be his first show ever! Nice way to be broken in, huh? Then he can say that it was his big sister who showed him where the real fun is and where the really cool people and the really cool music are! ;D

lollapalooza. definitly. more bang for your buck. 1.its at pine knob. 2.wilco, flamingh lips, polyphonic spree, sonic youth, broken social scene........ 3. jack johnson is at freedom hill and it kind of sucks. 4.also saw jack at bonnaroo and open for ben three times last summer and he was kind of boring live. just my opinion cheers
Yeah, I'd have to say Lollapalooza as well. The line-up makes me gasp everytime I look at it. I'm definitely checking it out when it comes to NYC. ... My little sister is 14, and I can't wait to take her to a show! She's been a little slow about taking to some of the things that I've given her to listen to, but all in good time.
Damn...saw the ticket price for Palooza in my area..$50 for a day and $90 for both. I thought I was going to be cheaper. I am trying to figure out which day I want to go to. I am leaning toward the second day with The Pixies The String Cheese Incident Elbow The Basement Jaxx The Flaming Lips The Polyphonic Spree TV on the Radio Gomez Sound Tribe Sector 9 The Coup Pretz Michael Franti & Spearhead Wheat Dresden Dolls Bumblebeez 81 Carina Round Mike Watt??? Maybe
On the first day it is Sonic Youth Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Broken Social Scene Le Tigre Morrissey Modest Mouse Pretz Von Bondies Danger Mouse The Walkman Wolf Eyes Datsuns Sparta Dresden Dolls Bumblebeez 81 Carina Round
Day 2 for me, without a doubt. I think you can buy lawn tix for, like, $35 or somethin'. Sector 9 on the second stage? They're definitely gonna to raise some eyebrows. The pixies, wilco, and sprearhead are only on select dates, which is kind of a bummer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Chicago.

pixies are only playing new york and la. wilco is playing cleveland, detroit , and toronto. sorry for the bad news
If you're gone during June 8th you can see Wilco in August in Rhode Island. They'll be playing on Sunday (August 8th...I think, it might be the 9th though) for the Newport Folk Festival. Crosby, Stills, and Nash are playing the day before and Doc Watson will be playing that Sunday too.
Finally got around to checking out the Lollapalooza bill and WOW! Day 2 looks like a day at last year's Bonnaroo.
So I looked at the Chicago dates and... I'm getting married on Day 2 and the rehearsal dinner's on day 1. I'm missing Oteil and the Peacemakers for an engagement party in a few weeks too (fortunately we made my family wait for the Bonnaroo dates to come out to schedule this). This marraige thing is really cutting into my concert schedule!
At least Bonnaroo will be a break from the wedding planning for my fiance and I.
I actually used to tear tickets and usher at the "Tweeter Center" (then the World) for two summers when I was in college. It was a pretty decent gig. Half the time you got to knock off early and watch the end of the show from the lawn. I saw Sting, Tina Turner, CSN, H.O.R.D.E., and Ziggy Marley this way. Got a few friends in free and tried to be as cool and accomadating with dancers and other concert-goers as I could get away with. That place is a hole though.
