For those of us in the Austin area, the show is coming on at 11 pm. Stanley Hoffman is the other guest on the show and he's a really interesting professor so it should be a good show.
Trey did a great job on Charlie Rose, he pretty much talked about the letter he posted on Phish.com but he was able to elaborate more. It is obvious he truly believes this is the right thing to do, and I think in five or ten years -- like Trey said -- most everyone will look back and say "Yes, this was the appropriate thing to do." I fall right into the stereo-type Trey talked about of being under 30 and wanting Phish to stick together. ;D Didn't Charlie say there was going to be a second part to that interview?
Trey was talking about how he didn't like the fact that when they would go to a city it was an excuse for everyone to party. He said over the years it had become less about the music and more about having fun and staying up all night. Also he talked about "Seis de Mayo" was an album he had wanted to do for years. Trey said it really bothered him that people thought he was the next Jerry Garcia and he doesn't really think there is a direct connection from Grateful Dead ----> Phish because the Dead are in a tier all by themself. Charlie asked him who would be the next band to sorta follow Phish and Trey said he wasn't really sure.
