Hey Tiene! Did you go? What a mess!!! I still can't believe the promoters bailed w/o paying anybody.... I feel bad for all the ppl that traveled a good distance for it. We met ppl from NY, TX, and SC.
My highlight was the Max Allen Band jamming under that pavillion thing, that was awesome. Did you catch them?

It was pretty crazy... everything was going fine until there was a big storm on Saturday afternoon around 3, and of course they stopped the bands (I think it was the middle of Bruce Hampton's set).
So the storm finally blows over and we're all kinda wandering around, wondering what's going on. The first rumor I heard was that Umphrey's took off b/c there was supposed to be another, worse storm coming. Finally a few people started playing acoustic up under this pavillion thing, and they started getting a crowd. The Max Allen Band plugged in up there after the acoustic set, and they jammed for a while (check these guys out---awesome). When they finished up, Jassy Grazz played main stage (they had already played that day but I think they were one of the few bands that were still there and willing to play at that point). I think somebody else played after that but I can't remember who.
Anyway, next morning we wake up to people saying it's cancelled, all the bands are gone, and the promoters bailed. Wandered around for a while, found a guy with a golf cart, asked him what was up. Turns out that the promoters bailed just after the storm on Saturday, took all the $$, didn't pay any bands (even the ones that had already played) and didn't pay the park for the lease (like $25k), cancelled the rest of the bands that weren't there yet, and LOCKED UP THE BATHROOMS (they had flush toilets... and b/c they had those, there were only a few portolets scattered around... those got SO nasty in notime once the trailer bathrooms were locked up) before they took off. The guy on the golf cart was one of the ppl that helps run the park. The guy that owned the park came back from wherever he was early so that he could pay some bands to play and open bathrooms and basically let the ppl know that it wasn't the park that did it, it was the promoters, and handed out fliers with some of the promoters' home numbers. They scrambled to find some bands that were still there to play on Sunday, but a lot of ppl just packed up and took off. So there was no LoS, no hookah, and no umphrey's.
