Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I don't want to be a downer but as some of you probably know, the government was watching the message boards for the Jam Cruise and several people were busted getting on the ship because of those messages. THINK before you post.
I'd really hate to see that happen at the Roo.
This was posted on the Krewe board. If this is true isn't this well illeagal? I asked the guy that posted it for any articles on it I didn't hear about it and want to find out all kinds of more info.
It's always possible that that those messages boards were monitored. Most people know that it's not smart to try to sneak illegal substances onto a cruise ship. Those people were busted for attempting to fool the dogs. If it's there, the dogs are going to find it. Coffee county has been pushing for the use of drug dogs at Bonnaroo. A. C. Entertainment doesn't want that obviously. There was some discussion on the listserv about this issue. Go check out the archives for more information.

the Jamcruise website has a message board. Check it out for first hand information from those who were there.
On a side note: before last years roo my group had to stop and pick up our buddies press pass at a local hotel. The state troopers working were all staying there. We over heard one bragging about a big bust they had made...it was 10 joints!!
I'm not usually comfortable around State cops but I have to admit that they were all real nice; friendly and non confrontational. I think you have to work real hard to get busted at the ROO
"We were headed for international waters and there was no place we'd all rather be. I feel obliged at this point to say that, yes, there were drug arrests at embarkation. But why dwell on this? That is what mainstream media is for."
If this is true isn't this well illegal? I asked the guy that posted it for any articles on it I didn't hear about it and want to find out all kinds of more info.
Oh Rummy, you slick bastard. That poster is great. I want one. I wouldn't worry too much about that sh!t at the Roo, with the message boards and all. I mean how the hell could they find one of us in a sea of 90,000 people anyway. That's a tough sell. And bringing drug dogs into the Roo, I mean COME ON!! That would signal the end of all things Roo I think.
On our way down last year, we pulled of I-24 as it dipped into Georgia for some cheap gas -- and ran into a Trooper roadblock WITH DOGS; being middle aged and still wearing suits from work, we were waved on. Others were detained and searched, and I'm sure items were found. Anyone else see this? It was Thursday afternoon just outside Chattanooga.
Didn't see that on the way down, but did see several cars/vans caked with mud (obviously leaving the Roo) pulled over and in the process of being searched.

Hey, everyone...a couple of thoughts. One a positive, and one a warning... First, the positive. I was one of the millions of folks at Woodstock '99. The drugs were just ridiculous there...I mean, really laughable. You couldn't walk 2' without tripping over some naked dude wearing a sign, selling mushrooms or hash or whatever. I mean, seriously. AND the place was crawling with state policemen. I watched in amazement, as they too wound their ways through the crowd, not interfering in anything, and God knows, there was plenty to interfere with! ;D On the other hand, I was driving down south on I77 many years ago, with my 3 year old. I'd brought my husband's handgun with me out of fear of car-jackings, because we were travelling alone. I passed a BIG sign in the median that said "NARCOTICS CHECK POINT, ONE MILE". Now, I didn't have any narcotics with me. But I DID have a handgun that wasn't registered to me, that I didn't have a permit to carry, especially concealed, AND none to take it across (several) state lines. So I did what any IDIOT ??? would do.....I immediately swerved from the passing lane to exit. The sign was about 50' from an exit. Well, guess what! I didn't even have the car in park, ON THE EXIT RAMP, when I was dragged out of my car and thrown on the ground face down, with my baby screaming in the backseat. I didn't BS them, then. I told them everything. I was luckier than HELL, cause they checked my husband's registration, then told me, and helped me move the handgun to "2 moves away." I couldn't even believe it! I got off the next exit in shock, got a hotel room, and burst into tears. Turned on the tv and found out that there had been a carjacking at the rest area JUST before the exit I'd been pulled at, and a young woman had been murdered....throat slashed ear to ear. Must be WHY they let little old me go. Long story to suggest that they MIGHT pull something like that on the road to the Roo...... Peace. Minde
