Anybody going to or been to jazzfest in nawlins? I'm thinking about making it down there this year and I love to hear any advice, stories, tips, whatever. The line up looks awesome, WSP, Jack Johnson, Rebirth, dirty dozen, Dr. John and soooooo many more. And tickets are only $20! Maybe Ill see some of you there?!?!?!
Ok, so it's all but official: after 2 years of wallowing in the mud at bonnaroo, I'm going to skip the scene this year and replace it with jazzfest. So have any of you been? Tell me about it please! Sorry to dissapoint all you 'rooers but I just dont think I can make the drive, the mud, the rain this year ... but of course june is stil a ways off and you never know what may happen.....

Seriously though, the difference between Bonnaroo and JazzFest is enormous; while both are Superfly productions and feature many overlapping performers, the difference is the City of New Orleans (definitely cool), it's police force (definitely not) and the hassle of traveling between designated theaters, clubs and arenas for performances. At the (beautiful, historic) Saenger Theater, a friend of mine was found by the NO Police to huave a large quantity of 'shrooms in his posession; their solution -- eat them. Got rapped on the head with a billy club later that weekend.
