Ok, so I'm starting this thread as the b@stard cousin, of the very popular Now Playing music thread. This one is for, pretty much, everything else. Video games, DVDs, movies you went to see at the theater, whatever your present entertainment obsession might be. I don't know how far this will go, but I enjoy the music thread alot, so here it goes. DVD's Strange Brew I (heart) huckabees Halfbaked: Fully baked edition Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Video Games GTA: San Andreas Outlaw Golf 2 (Dave Attel does the announcing, which alone makes it worth the 13 bucks I paid for it)
Last movie I saw in theaters Constentine (2.5 out of 4, I'd say)
So there you go. Just whatever consumes your time, besides dreaming and planning for B-roo.
One of the best seasons of TV ever. ("Personally, I wanna kill the dragon.") Unfortunately I'm still stuck in Season 4 on DVD (because my wife is dragging her feet).
Other recent DVDs: M Millenium Mambo Tout Va Bien Bringing Up Baby
Waiting for payday to finally pick up the Warner Gangster Collection
The PS2 one of my groomsman got me for my wedding present has taken over my life and drastically curtailed my DVD hobby. For me its all Madden, all the time.
Just got Empire:The Dawn of the Modern World for my PC...........it just may lead to divorce!!!! (kidding...kinda!!) Also the Family Guy season 1 and 2.....that show is so wrong on sooooo many levels!!!!!
I just saw the Jacket yesterday. Very good. Adrien Brody's nose is REALLY big. I knew this going in but, that thing never fails to take me by suprise. I liked the ending alot though, made me feel good.

Recently got a DVD burner for my PC and I am soooo far behind in watching any I may never catch up. I'm burning 3 or 4 more a day... My wife is telling me that Manny guy is gonna hunt me down before too long. I have really enjoyed: Run Lola Run Big Fish The Forgotten Suicide Kings
So far as TV about the only show I can't miss is "24". I'm totally gut-hooked...
the only show I can't miss is "24". I'm totally gut-hooked...
I just got addicted to this show this year. My only two TV shows used to be Angel and Buffy, but I am finding that I need to fill the void left by their absence. I'm watching Lost, Arrested Development ("I'm going to go staple this to a seal!"), 24 and....(isn't there a guilty pleasure thread somewhere)....the O.C. Arrested Development and Lost are the only ones I tape if I'm busy during their timeslot.
Any Arrested Development fans out there(the show, not the early 90's rap group)? I watch this show religiously, if you haven't checked it out, please do so, for the last few episodes this season(there are rumors that it might be cancelled). Best comedic writing on TV hands down. Stupid desperate housewives has got nothing on this show. Anyway, I watched it last night, and it was one of the best episodes this season. Carl Weathers and Dave Attel guested. I laughed my ass off. Seriously, it's the only show that makes me laugh till I cry, sometimes. I know, it's touching ;D
Hey Danbird, think we can get the "Hot Cops" (from the episode when George Michael is taught the lesson about buying drugs) to be in the Mardi Gras parade this year? That would be SWEET! ;D
George Sr:"that's why you never teach lessons to your children" Michael: "But you just taught me a lesson" George Sr: "This was my last lesson"
Hot Cops at the parade....interesting idea, but as you know, you can't garuntee that thier instincts won't kick in, and they'll start stripping. I'd rather see G.O.B there, in the banana suit. COME ON!!!
There's nothing guilty about my love for the O.C. here. It's a beautiful love that knows no boundaries! I totally would cut off a finger if Lindsay asked me to...

Just watched "Alfie". It comes out tomorrow, and I suggest watching it. I'm all googley-eyed for Jude Law, but it's a good flick. Check out the Incredibles if you get a minute too
Guess what I watched? Arrested Development. I missed the episode last Sun., because of the QOTSA concert. My friend DVR'd it, so I watched it last night. Another really good episode. Buster feeding the robo-maid was hilarious. Buster is coming on strong in these last few episodes.
Lindsay: Can’t you at least come over and Dustbuster or something?
Lupe: I no does Buster anymore.
Lindsay: Fine. I’ll Dustbuster.
F*ckin' brilliant. David Cross as Mrs. Featherbottom was pretty d@mn funny too. I know I'm obscesed. Better to be obscesed with AD than the OC
What if I'm obsessed with both? The sad thing is that Arrested Development might have some trouble getting renewed without a strong finish.
New entertainments for me this week: Star Wars Clone Wars (the best Star Wars entertainment in 22 years) and MVP Baseball for my PS2 (I'm almost through April of the White Sox season).
Than I just feel sorry for you . I'm kidding, I know lots of people that like the OC. I'm not sure I understand why. It's cool though. I won't hold it against you, for too long. You're right about AD. It's definately not getting cancelled, but that doesn't mean it's going to be renewed. As long as they keep putting it out, I don't care what channel it's on. Just give me the DVD's so I can watch them over and over again and laugh till I crap my pants. Tommarow's episode is the highly anticipated showdown between G.O.B and Ben Stiller, who I guess is the head of the magician's alliance. Should be good. Look for Zach Braff in one of the remaining episodes as well. And as for other stuff I've been watching. NCAA tournament. Nuff said. Illini just pulled it out. Should be a great final four. Oh, and my friend just got a PSP. I must say it's the sweetest thing I've ever laid my eyes on. I lusted for it immediately. That screen, that beautiful screen.
Just got back from seeing Sin City. WOW!!! Amazing movie. Everyone keeps saying that it's the best comic book/graphic novel adaptation to the big screen, EVER. You could definately say that. Very entertaining, and very gory. Highly stylized violence, but none-the-less. If you liked Kill Bill, you'll friggin love this movie. Oh and I watched something else the other night. Can't remember what it was. Hmmm. (cough) Arrested Development(cough)(cough). 2 episodes left. Zach Braff is in next week's episode. Season Finale is on my Birthday.
GOB: "(As Franklin.) Can I tell you something, my man? (As himself.) Sure, Franklin. (As Franklin.) You are one cool motherf**ker. Speaking of mothers, let me give that oatmeal some brown sugar."
A friend of mine bought my wife GTA: San Andreas for her birthday last week. I probably never would have bought it just due to the amoral nature of it but once we had it I couldn't resist.
The best way I can explain how the last week has been for us: GTA is like crack, except you pay for it once and then have an unlimited supply.
I know most people either knew this months ago or could care less, but the game is absolutely extraordinary.
Yes, San Andreas had me by the balls for quite sometime, until I got stuck, and I haven't played it since. One word for you Ka Mai.....jet pack.
I rented the new Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. It's pretty sweet. Nothing like coming home after a long days work of dealing with @sshole customers all day, and shooting up some people. Dual weilding weapons=much fun. It's no Halo 2, but fun none-the-less.
I saw Sin City.....again. Amazing movie. The lady in front of me was pretty upset at all the gore, which made it all the more funny. And of course, it wouldn't be right for me to post without mentioning the Arrested Development season finale. WOW. It's definately not getting cancelled. They left sooooo much open for the next season. It might have been the best episode yet, IMHO. FOX is off thier rockers if they get rid of that show. Give me the DVD.....NOW!!! I demand satisfaction.
Danbird, I loved Sin City. Laughed my a@$ off when Del Toro's character had to bite into his own hand to get his gun back. Yeah, it was a prettty good adaptation of the graphic novel. Probably one of the few things Frank Miller wrote that you could bring to a movie. Except Robocop of course.

I thought sin city was an excellent movie, once to see the visual greatness and another to actually try and follow the storylines. wouldnt mind a third time just to relax through it.
There are many, many things about the movie that are superbly conceived and executed (the entire "look" of the film, casting, performances, story structure, selling the heightened dialogue and visual style 100%), but it just had one or two (or three...or four) too many genital mutilations for me to feel "entertained". It was just too much for me. I felt the same way about Kill Bill 1, although I think Sin City was a million times better.
My girlfriend and brother felt the same way about kill bill vol. 1 and the genital mutilation in Sin City so you're not alone. I've probably watched to many war movies with my Dad and my Grandfather and became immune ???
This is as awesome as it looks! They're one of my favorite bands which I've managed to drop the ball with EVERYTIME they've played out around Chicago. I guess it will be sort of momentous being able to see them live at Roo for the first time. Man, I think the version of "Women Without Whiskey" on here brought a tear to my drunken eye. ;D
I've been watching the DVD's I burned off my friend last weekend.
Upright Citizens Brigade 1st season Mr. Show 2nd Season Curb Your Enthusiasm 3rd Season
I can't stop laughing!
Oh and a note to Arrested Development fans....and those that aren't, yet....re-runs of season 2 start this friday night. So don't go out drinking, smoke one and watch TV instead.
Arrested Development is getting cancelled . I can taste the sad already. There will only be 13 episodes this season, and it won't be on again until Nov. 28th!!! Those FOX b@stards!!! Hey, I have an idea, let's renew terribly mindless shows like Stacked, and cancel the one emmy winning show we have. Yes that sounds like a brilliant plan. Brilliant. Let's take our plan for success to that Bush loving @sshole Rupert. Mindlessness=Success. FOX has got that sh!t down pat, I'll give em that. "I don't even know why we're going after this idiot demographic." My only hope is it will get picked up by another network. I really really hope. Sorry to rant, but this is by far the best show on TV, and it's getting canned. Is there no justice in the world? On another note, I've been catching up on Lost. It's a really good show. I borrowed my friend's season 1 dvd, and then caught up with the new season 2 episodes. I hope The Others attack FOX and kill them real good like.
