Anybody interested in the Big Summer Classic tour w/SCI, Keller, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Yonder Mtn, Umphrey's, and New Monsoon? It looks great to me, it's reasonably priced, and I'm psyched it's hitting my town on a weekend. What a great way to spend a Sunday...
The Indy show is the closest to me and on a Sunday to boot!
I wasn't even aware there was a large park like that in Indy. Usually we just take the loop to 69 and then up to DeerCreek (I'll never call it Verizon Wireless Music Center!).
I'm most likely going to hit up the show in High Falls NY. If funds are short this summer I may have to miss this for Zooma. Umphrey's are my favorite but they won't be playing a big set with all those other bands to play and String Cheese closing. Oh well, amazing music at either tour.
I might hit the High Falls show as well if I can get the night off. I'd rather see this than Zooma though. I've never been to High falls and something tells me this might be more fun.

Pigs, it's downtown, with lots of grass and trees - very pretty. Should be a very cool venue! And within walking distance to a Courtyard by Mariott, if you want to consider that.
One more thing; it's blocks from Victory Field (http://www.indyindians.com/victory_field/profile.html), our minor league baseball team's stadium, which has been voted best minor league stadium in the US. Beautiful -- very old-school appearance and home plate looks toward the city skyline. Come for a weekend and hit a game and then vibe to some groovy tunes on Sunday! You and your wife would be welcome to join me and my posse at the show.
I had completely ignored/forgotten about this until I saw it in the "things to do this weekend" section of the Chicago Reader today.
Let's see, I've got no plans, I've got $45, and for that I can go see SCI, Umphrey's, Spearhead and Keller Williams in a minor league baseball stadium in the suburbs tomorrow and/or Saturday. Sounds more tempting the more I think about.

the big summer classic here in brooklyn, which is tomorrow the 21st, has been moved from keyspan park in coney island, which is a minor league ballpark, to the bandshell in prospect park.
me thinks they didn't sell as many tix as they thought they would and moved it to a smaller venue to keep from having to pay concession stand people, security, cleaning, and other costs associated with putting on a concert at a baseball stadium.
the cool thing is, the bandshell is just a sloping fenced in area. consequently you can sit outside and see and hear the performers perfectly. so tomorrow after work i'm taking my camping chair down a couple blocks to the park to just sit outside and hear all of it for free!!!
