I really dislike starting threads like this, but after watching the news for the last 4 days and seeing the total desperation in New Orleans, I have to ask.....Where is the federal government in this whole mess? Going on 5 days now and still no significant help or plan!!! Where's the food, the water, the medical attention, the buses to get these people out of there? The devistation in Mississippi is terrible but I think the people in New Orleans would give an arm and a leg to be where those people are at right now. There were 7,000 National Guard troops stationed in Louisiana and Mississippi that could have been there right away. But guess where those troops are at? And the Secretary of State was seeing a broadway comedy today. Tomarrow she gets back to work, "cutting short" her vacation. Nice. Maybe it's too early to place the blame on this dibacle, but it seems inhumane to me, to take this long to get help to these people. It's gotten to the point where I can't watch the news anymore cause it's far too depressing, like it was after 9/11. I'd like to complain about gas prices as well, but it just seems wrong when I see what I see on the TV every night this week. Paying $3.19+ for a gallon of gas just isn't that bad when you think about the people, that would give thier first born to get gas, to get the hell out of that city. I've ranted long enough. You get the point.
