On Jan 24th Cochella is being shown at select regal theatres. If you look up Regal you will find listing where it is being played. This is the best of Cochella the last 6 years with the Flaming Lips, Radiohead,Beck,Bjork,Iggy Pop,Chillie Peppers,Mos Def,Arcade Fire, White Stripes, Pixies, and many more. IM me if you want more info. I know this because I work for Regal.
OK Guys(and Ladies) Here is the link to the Cochella movie page...it has a listing of bands in it and where it is playing. Tickets are 10 in advance and 12 day of show.
I saw this the other night. It was pretty cool....I think I'm gonna go get a Pixies cd and a White Stripes cd after seeing it! (The Pixies song was particularly good, I thought.)
I was a little disappointed that the Mars Volta clip was cut so short. It looked like it would have been a great set. Also, there were clips of Mos Def and Beck (separately) talking to the camera, but no performance clips of either. Kind of a bummer there, but overall, it was really worth seeing.
Boy, did it make me ready to be back at Bonnaroo, though!!!
I saw it as well. I kinda figured they weren't going to show Beck play, oh well. I loved Iggy hen he jumped on the amps and the security comes over by him so he doesn't fall. I'd love to see him. I think the best quote was that he looked like a piece of chewed up Barbed wire. I liked how they really showed the different types of bands the culture of the festival. I think for the most part it was simular to the 2004 bonnaroo dvd. I think it could have used more footage about the campers. I am also with you as far being even more pumped up to go to Roo this year after watching it. Where did you see it at? How many ppl? There were only 20 ppl that came to the one by me.

Ohhh, ya know my favorite Pixies collection is called "Death To The Pixies," but it's out of print. It was a best of cd and a live cd packaged together. You can still find copies through Amazon Marketplace and Half.com for really cheap though. Their actual LPs are great, but I was never a big enough fan to drop cash on all of them. This collection is absolutely perfect and trumps the more recent 'best of.' Here's the Amazon link with the tracklisting and everything...
BTW the Pixies song you are refering to is in the documatary is "Where is my Mind?" It is one of their best songs I think and was the song played at the end of Fight Club as the buildings are being blown up.
Thanks for the tip...I just ordered it from ebay...
I thought this review posted on the listing was pretty funny: Listening to Black Francis spit caustic vocals about God or UFOs, while Joey Santiago furiously tortures his guitar and future Breeder Kim Deal thumps out the heartbeat on her bass, is like shoving your eardrums through a cheese grater. The resulting echo never fades. - Rating: B+ Entertainment Weekly (12/12/1997)
thanks for the reccomendation...unfortunately, i have only gotten to hear the live part because the guy forgot to check the case, and it only had the second disc in it! (he is giving me a partial refund).....the live half is great, though!
