I want to get my b/f a new PS2 game for Valentine's Day, and I was hoping you could help me pick a good one. We both love God of War -- the graphics are great, the action is adrenoline-pumping, each new "scene" has so many layers that you have to keep track of that it's extremely addictive, etc. The whole "go on an epic trek to reach one final conclusion while having many adventures along the way" type of game is one of my favorites. But, although I'd like us both to enjoy the game, ultimately I want to get him something he loves.
What suggestions do you have for a really fun game? Thanks!!
this is probably a really obvious suggestion, but my boyfriend has loved all of the Grand Theft Auto games (assuming he doesn't mind any possibly objectionable content )
If your man was crazy obsessed into GTA: San Andreas (I know I was) than he would probably dig the other two: GTA III and GTA: Vice City (they should be $15 and $20 respectively new these days). These are older and not quite as good as San Andreas though, so if he just kind of liked it, played it casually, and never finished it, he might not be interested in the earlier ones (I played San Andreas and am enjoying going back and playing the older ones). My wife loves Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal as those "cute animal with big guns in 3-D environment games" are her favorite. I could give you plenty of advice on sports games if he's into that. Burnout 3: Takedown is supposed to be the best car game ever I think. All of these are in the $20 new "Greatest Hits" category. I stay about a year behind the curve and buy them when they get cheap, so I don't know much about the new ones.
I highly recommend Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. If he likes strategy, sneaking around without being detected, type of stuff, or if he's played any of the other Metal Gear games, he will like it. It's cheap now, cause it came out quite a while ago. It has owned my soul for many a week lately. You have to scavenge for food in this one as well. Which is fun, cause you can pick mushrooms. Be careful of the poisonous ones.
I've heard really good things about Resident Evil 4. Also the first Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is a fun game probably more like Gods of War. Lots of action and cool wall jumps with the ability to reverse time. The second on called Prince of Persia: Warrior Within I didn't like, but my brother thought was great. And then finally Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones just came out.
Resident Evil 4 is a great game. I recommend playing it with the lights on though. Also Kingdom Hearts is a great game. It may look really silly as you fight alongside Donald Duck and Goofy, but it is actually really fun.
