I just got the lineup on Jam Base. Has anyone ever gone to this? If so give us an idea of what it is like. Anyways, this lineup looks rocking!:

Over all, the variety the festivals have this year is great. I am seeing some of the smaller ones booking larger acts.
The lineups for Langerado,Bonnaroo, Merlefest, Coachella, Sasquactch!, 1,000 Lakes, Wakarusa,Wanee, and Telluride Bluegrass Festival look really good. This looks like it will be an excellent year for festival lovers. If there is one festival that doesn't have what you are looking for then there is another that does...what what I always say! ;D
as all of us fest vets are aware......the lineup isn't all that matters, unfortunately......im looking for grounds, vendors, facilities, security, population, etc information......the lineups are posted, now lets talk about the vibe of the venue.......do you have to stand in line for 2 hrs to get thru security to go into the venue (as i did last year at roo in the afternoons)???......are there adequate portajohns for the attendance stats???......do they have wash facilities???......are there cops around every corner and behind every tree (as there was at the Alabama Odyssey Music Festival in 2004)???......are the grounds breath taking or just barely inhabitable???......come off some info ppl i know yall have made the trip to this place......hell this is the best collection of intergalactic day trippers ive seen......so spill it!
this post seems a little harsh....it is not intended to be......so i apologize if it seems so......it's sometimes hard for me to type without sounding as such......
I haven't been to All-Good since 2002, and it was at a different venue, a few miles away from Marvin's I think. It was a good vibe though. Pretty standard really, as far as vendors, security and whatnot. There wasn't any security checkpoints other than at the gate, when you first came in. I think you could bring whatever you wanted to down to the stage. We didn't have to go anywhere to find any "goodies". Just sat at our campsite and it all came to us. It's a really beautiful area, lush greenery, out in the middle of nowhere, which is pretty much all of WV. But like I said it's been a few years, and I have heard stories, the past couple years, of some bad things happening. But they might just be hippie urban legend. (shrugs)
Haven't been to All Good but I've heard mixed things. I always hear that the location and security are great and everything, just shady folks doing shady things. I've heard people getting stuff stolen from them and stuff like that. I've also heard that it was a great time and that a lot of people didn't encounter anything shady. I wouldn't put much stock in it though cuz I hear that stuff about 'roo every year, especially the years that people ended up dying. I never once in 3 years encountered any shady doing at 'roo. 10,000 Lakes is where I'm heading assuming I can make everything work. I've heard it's got the best camping area of any fest, in the woods or along a lake. You park your car at camp too just like 'roo. At All Good I'm almost positive that you park somwhere and then carry all your stuff to the camping area. Thats pretty much all I know right now, I've just never heard anything bad about 10,000 Lakes and mixed reviews about All Good. I'm also considering All Good cuz it's much closer to me.
yeah i never got any thing but positive from fellow roosters......we always left stuff lying around camp and occassionally had the random unlocked vehicle over night......no incidents or thefts ever and was right out side the gates in 2004, camp porky pig, with ppl always streaming thru our tent area......they were always polite and kept to the established ant lines thru camp......funny thing last year, i woke up friday morning with random hippie sleeping in the middle of our group tent area which was completely covered with a tarp.....started making breakfast for the group and assumed he was with someone in our group as there 6 of us; a couple ppl were friends of friends so i didnt know everyone......of course everyone woke up smelling breakfast including sleeping beauty......he ate with us, said he would hook up with us later and split.....after he left everyone was like what was that dude's name.....and we were all like hell i thought you knew him......he became a regular at camp.....and brought 2 other folks that ended up crashing every night.....they were cool, didnt know us from adam, and knew where all of our stuff was by the end of the weekend and no problems at all.....sorry but i dont remember their names......one was james, that is the best i can recall......
i would rather hit 10k lakes but man that is so far from alabama......i just dont know if my work schedule can accomodate it.....the lineup is definitely worth it imo......and ive heard awesome stuff about it......hmmmm......thanks for the imput about what you've heard though.
Also something cool I forgot about 10K lakes fest is that you can have campfires and you can also feel free to swim in the lake whenever you please. They don't make or a break a festival but those are huge pluses for me. I'm really looking forward to having more free time to get to know everyone around camp and barbecue good food.
yeah, i think im gonna try to hit 10k lakes if at all possible.......i like the lineup the most and the pics ive been able to find look awesome.......now just to talk my trippin buddy into the distance.......if it works out, ill holler at you umphreak......

I've seen plenty of sketchiness at Bonnaroo and alot of other festies. Never been to an All Good myself but i too have heard stories about there being mad wookies and some sketchiness going on but i suppose thats somewhat true for everywhere but like people above said, stories from AllGood seem to be somewhat common. I might go this year $89 early bird is all good for all those bands...
