Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I figured I would create this and have people write about festivals they have been to in the past or ones they just went to. I am sure other people here would like to know how the vibe is, festival activities, the layout of the bands, camping and so on.
I have only been to Bonnaroo, so I really don't have much to share that you don't all ready know. I have been to CMJ(College Music Journal) Marathon which is more of a convention in a way than a festival, but the cool thing is that there are 1,000 bands in 4 night. I went 4 years with my college radio station..had a blast every year. Anyways, please share stories and info if you have anything.
I've been to the last 3 Coachellas... (I really love Coachella, it's great. 2004 was a dream come true) Been to the last 4 San Diego Street Scenes (which became a major player in the festival scene last year with a huge lineup, IMO) Went to the inaugural Vegoose festival last year (loved it)
I have countless stories/anecdotes/opinions to share about all of them... but right now it's really late and I'm tired and don't know where to even start. If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer...
Was this in the middle of May last year? Cause I think I was there. Didn't get to see much music, but those parties...sheesh...OUT OF HAND!!! As for other festivals, for me, been to All-Good in 2002, Lollapalooza in 2003, and Bonnaroo and Coventry in 2004. As well as the local radio station's little festy back in 1997. Ben Folds 5, Marcy Playground, Green Day, Cherry Poppin Daddies, yeah those were the good old days
Went to the Curiosa festival a couple years back and ACL the past coule of years.
Curiosa had a great lineup, but was corporate and therefore put on in a piece of shit venue. Met a military journalist there who snuck me up front for the Cure encore. Outside of the heat stroke and the inability to buy anything to eat for less that $10, a pretty quality little showcase. (For those who don't remember: The Cure, Interpol, The Rapture, Mogwai, Head Automatica, The Cooper Temple Clause, Muse didn't make the Dallas stop).
ACL last year sucked. Mediocre headlining acts and dust everywhere. The year before was okay, but I fell asleep by the port-a-potties during the Wilco set which sucked cause I didn't get to see them and I got separated from the people I went with.
