Does anyone know where Fiji Island is on the UT campus? Ben Folds is apparently going to be playing there on 4/28. I've lived in Knoxville pretty much all my life, and I've been a student at UT for the last 6 1/2 years, and I have never heard of a Fiji Island. Does anyone know anything about this place?
At my alma mater (Missouri), the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity (known as FIJI) threw a beach party every year called Fiji Island... maybe the UT Fijis also have a Fiji Island party and they somehow got Ben Folds to play their frat party??? If so, I'd like to know how those lucky fuckers pulled that trick... maybe they won a contest or something...

yeah its the grassy area in fraternity park in front of their fraternity house, just go down 16th street or volunteer i think. Behind the rec center you will see it. its really not related to fiji its just were they had there party.

the concert is put on by the student government, it use to be called volapolooza. last year they had robert randolph, there were maybe 200 people there. a free concert with robert randolph and some fraternity guys i know complained because it was in their front yard. they have bad taste in music.

free robert randolph and only a coupld hundered showed? frats are the worst... if it was kid rock they would have to shut down the town... it would be sweet if it was the wed night before roo and hundereds of hippies showed up

I don't think this was very heavily advertised/I'm betting a lot of people didn't know about it (I know I didn't). The Ben Folds show is in a couple of weeks, and I only know about it because of his website and jambase. I haven't seen ANY advertisement for it locally.

i wish i lived closer, ive seen him once and it was an awesome show.. i cant wait to see him at roo... and i saw him by himself so im interested in seeing him play with others...im surprised it took this long to get him to roo
