So I haven't heard alot of this band. I know that it's some of the members of Broken Social Scene, which is what struck my interest. I just "got" thier newest cd, Live It Out, but haven't listened to it yet. They're gonna be in Philly on Sat. and I'm thinking of going. Anyone ever see them live?
Sorry about that, I've seen them live and they put on a pretty good show. We coaxed the singer (sorry can't remember her name) into trying her first stage dive which was cool. She did get a little preachy at the end. For her encore she talked for about 10 mins on Bush which had some people leaving not because they didn't agree with her but because she was sort of ranting. It was a good show overall and if you enjoy the music I say go.
Thanks Samhall. I think I will go. I bought my tickets yesterday actually. Yeah, I haven't listened to them much, but I've definately been enjoying the new album. They sound like they have alot of energy. Plus it's at a Philly venue that I've never been to, and it's my night off, so it's a no brainer really.
It was a good show, for those who care. That venue sucks @ss though. there wasn't any running water, and the toilets wouldn't flush, no security(which is a bonus in some ways), and friggin people that don't speak english handing out beers. Have you ever tried to get a Heineken from a Chinese guy who doesn't understand what your saying? "NOT YUENGLING, THE GREEN BOTTLE....GREEN!!!" Yeah, that was frustrating. But Metric was really good. They do have alot of energy, and they sound good live, especially thier new songs. And the girls, good lord the girls. Hipster chics as far as the eye could see.
I've got a cd of theirs around here somewhere. Pretty good stuff. They were giving them away at a show here in Cinci. It was at Top Cats (The guy that owns it fronted our dart fees so go see a show there). I didn't get a chance to see them but I heard it was a good show.
I had a radio show in college and we were required to play stuff from the promo collection. Metric's CD was in there and all we all ended up loving it. When I finished school and moved back to California I bought the CD and I went to see them play in SF. They were so good live and so full of energy that I couldn't get enough. The come through here every few months, so I have seen them once since the first time and I'm going to see them again next week.
